Q: Drive America cars to Canada?
I bought a Honda CR-V (assembled in Ohio) from Erie, PA , and I have a H-1 working visa . I would like to drive and transfer the car to Toronto, Ontario. Does anyone know what/how steps I should take to successfully transfer my car (ie. insurance, license plate issuing, documents to bring to border)? Thank you in advance.

A: If you're going to be registering the vehicle in your name it isn't too horrible. You'll need to get a K22 import form at the border when you cross into Canada. This will be granted as long as your vehicle meets Canadian standards, which most American vehicles do. You'll also need a letter from Honda USA confirming that there are no outstanding recalls on your vehicle, so you may want to arrange that letter so that you receive it dated shortly before you cross the border. You'll have a few days to transfer your registration to Ontario (check with the Ontario DMV but I believe it's 60 days). You'll need to get the vehicle inspected by an accredited garage to show that it is in good mechanical and physical condition. Once that is done you can purchase insurance on it, then take evidence of your insurance (your "pink card") to a license plate issuer and get your plates and your driver's license.

Q: Is there a car show in Erie, PA?
There is one there every year, but can't find out when it is and where it is at

A: I found two car shows in Erie, PA last year: Erie First Assembly of God Car Show was held on June 10 and the Penn State Behrend Car Show was on April 21. You could try doing some searches to see if these same organizations will have car shows again this year.

Q: Which company makes the best snow tires (goodyear, etc...)?

Also, would snow tires increase the resale of the vehicle? Thanks.

Q: What's the cheapest business car insurance company?
There are different business car insurance companies, I have heard Erie insurance is one of the best ones, do you know of any other companies that might be better or similar? thanks

A: I dunno about best, and I dunno what you mean by "business". However, my buses are insured through Lincoln General and/or Lancer. Lancer is one of the best in commercial insurance, and they go after nuisance claims with a hammer (which is good, as it keeps your costs down.) and they also have various safety materials you can "borrow" for a safety seminar you can hold at your place. Lincoln General is not quite as proactive, but they do send an auditor / evaluator to check up on your risk-abatement which also helps to keep your costs down. If you want some more information, I would check out... http://insurance.123thebest.info/ Take care.

I AM HEARING ALOT ABOUT THE NYPD AUTO AUCTION AT THE BROOKLYN NAVY YARD AND THE ERIE BASIN AUTO POUND IN BROOKLYN. I HEARD THAT CARS GO FROM ANYWHERE FROM $500-$2000. A CO WORKER TOLD ME THAT HE GOT HIS 98 BMW FROM THERE FOR $700. IS THIS TRUE? I WENT TO THE OFFICIAL NYPD SITE AND CAME ACROSS THE AUCTION INFO BUT IM STILL ON A FENCE. HAS ANYONE EVER BEEN TO ONE?

Q: do people ever drive their cars around on lake Erie when it's frozen?
Motorcycles? trucks? vans? Just curious.

A: Some people have tried and needed to have the Coast Guard come rescue them around the Port Clinton area. It's difficult to tell when the Lake is actually frozen thick enough to support your own body weight, much less the added weight of a vehicle!

Q: Does anybody know of a Lake Erie car ferry? Please give me the website.
BEST ANSWER =10 POINTS

A: Actually there are a couple .To, Put in Bay, and Middle Bass Island. You did not mention to or from where? Obviously, only your little part of it seems to matter. So as a result I am including the results of actually using a simple thing like typing in Lake Erie ferries into a search engine.
