Q: Does anyone know what the Shell Oil stickers I keep seeing on cars are all about?
I keep seeing them all around town (I'm in Columbus, OH) and they are always both on the back and side of the car/van/truck. There's no website, although it does say "proud sponsor of NASCAR".

A: Shell isn't the fuel for Nascar........Sunoco is their fuel. Maybe Sunoco and Shell are affiliated. Also I think Sunoco just took over Nascar last year, could the stickers be old?

Q: What is with all the Sunoco stickers on cars?
I live in Columbus Ohio and everywhere I look there are Sunoco stickers on cars. Someone please tell me why. I just don't get it.

A: they are giving free gas if they see the sticker on your car. It's a NASCAR promotion

Q: How can I get to Fort Benning Georgia from the Greyhound Bus Stop in Columbus, Georgia without renting a car?

A: I lived there 3 years ago and unless it has moved, the bus station is pretty close to downtown. I'm pretty sure the cabs run by there all the time and it wouldn't be too expensive I don't think as Benning isn't too far from there. Maybe look up the number of a cab company before you go to have just in case you need it. Good luck!

Q: What would you bring with you on a 1 day trip to Columbus, Ohio?
I'm going to Columbus this weekend, and I'm not sure on exactly what to bring. I will be visiting my friend at her graduation party. We're not staying at a hotel. We're just going down there at aroung 2pm, and staying till 10pm, then we're driving back home. Could you please tell me what I need to bring for the car trip and the party? What kind of clothes would be appropriate for the occasion? When is a good time for a rest stop? What kinds of good meals don't spoil for 3 hours? (the length of the car trip) If you would be so kind as to answer my questions, I will consider your answer as a best answer.

A: I would reccommend shorts and tshirt or tank top whichever. Its usually really hot out. but make sure they're dressy clothes. lol I'd also recommend bringing a cooler full of soda/water/juice and some snacks such as crackers or licorice for the car trip. We always bring 2 different bags of chips. one for the kids one for us. usually baked lays because they're not so greasy. greasy & car seats do not mix. you can pack pb&j sandwiches they dont spoil in 3 hours. or you can bring sub sandwiches in a cooler.

Q: how much does an ignition for a car run at average price in columbus ohio?
I don't remember what kind of car, but I think it was made from 1999-2003. sorry I couldn't be more specific.

A: pkalohommie, Let me start out by saying I'm not wisest person when it comes to auto repair. Last month I had some problems with my Pontiac G8 and I wasn't sure how to fix them. I tried to search the web for tips, but the procedures were way too difficult for my skills. I ended up going to the dealship for my repairs. The dealership tends to charge more than mom and pop repair shops, but they've seen all sorts of situations (car insurance problems, repair warranty issues, etc) and they seem to always find a way to help me. Maybe you can try calling auto repair shops in Ohio to see if they can help you. http://www.autorepairshoplocator.com/Ohio-Auto-Repair.html

Q: do i need a car in Columbus, Ohio?
my husband and i are relocating from Portland, OR to Columbus, OH in july. we don't have a car right now because portland's public transportation system is great. we can't really afford to buy a car before we move. so i was just wondering, could we get by without a car in Columbus for a few months until we have some money saved up? i don't really know much about the public transportation there, and just need to know if we could use it to get to and from work.

A: It really depends on where you live and work - if either of those will be in the suburbs, or really anywhere outside of the central city (i.e. downtown, brewery district, short north, hilltop, old town east, etc.), then yes, you will need a car. I have lived in Columbus almost my entire life, and I know many people without cars who are very limited in their employment prospects because they can't get to where the jobs are. I love Columbus, and there are many wonderful things about the city - but keep in mind that it is in the top 20 physically largest cities in the world, so things are very spread out. Many people live in one suburb or far-flung area of town, and work in another, so there is no critical mass of people all going in the same direction at the same time - which is why reliable public transportation has never developed. If your employer is in any of the newer areas of town, like Easton or Polaris, the mailing address might be Columbus, but it's so far from downtown you're not even in the same county! There are no sidewalks in most residential and office park areas either, which can make getting from the bus stop to where you're going an adventure. So check with your future employer to find out exactly where they're located, and look at it on a map. Then check the COTA (Central Ohio Transit Authority) website to see if there's a bus that goes anywhere near where you need to be at anytime close to when you need to get there. That will give you a sense of your options. Good luck!

A: According tp"AAA.com" it is approximatly 363 miles(this is from Tallahassee via Dothan,Al to Montgomery ,Al, to Tuscaloosa,Alabama to Columbus. So at 60 to 65 mph it should take 6 to 7 hours(could be closer to 51/2 hour)

Q: josh rode his bike 17 mi from his home to columbus, and then traveled 53 mi by car from columbus to dayton. as
sume that the average rate of the car was 43 mph faster than the average rate of the bike. a. express the total time required to complete the 70-mi trip (bike and car) as a function of the rate x of the bike. b. find graphically the rate of the bike if the total time of the trip was 1 h 40 min. confirm algebraically.

A: to do this problem we must first establish a few variables: t1 is the time the bike traveled. t2 is the time the car traveled. Ttotal is the total time josh was traveling. a. 17 = x *t1 53 = (x+43)*t2 Ttotal = t1+t2 70 = (x*t1)+((x+43)*t2) =x*Ttotal + 43*t2 (subisituting t2 for 53/(x+43) you get 70 = x*Ttotal + 43*(53/(x+43)) b. if the total rate was 1h 40 mins we can set our Ttotal value equal to 1.66 in the equation Distance = Velocity * Time to get: 70 = x*1.66 + 43*(53/(x+43)) so we find our x value (average rate of the bike) to be 20.57 mph.

Q: Closest Beach to Columbus Georgia and Birmingham Alabama?
My family and I are flying to birmingham, renting a car and driving to Columbus Georgia for my fiance's graduation at Fort Benning. We then want to go to a beach (preferrably a decent one) But we don't want it to be to far away from Birmingham because that's where we are catching our return flight home. So, what would be the best beach to go to that is close to Birmingham and Columbus Georgia?

A: Your best bet will be Panama City, FL, due South, 180 miles on highways 421 then 231. Driving East to Hilton Head Island would be an extra 100 miles.
