Q: Information on NFL Hall of Fame/Akron-Canton Airport & Transportation?
We are flying into Akron/Canton airport for a one day trip to visit the NFL Hall of Fame. Is there transportation available from the airport to the HoF? Appx how much should we expect to pay for a cab? Or should we just rent a car for the day? How long should we plan for the visit to the HoF? We will be traveling with our two sons (ages 9 & 6). Any other info you could provide that would be helpful would be appreciated!!
A: I'd get a rental car. The Hall Of Fame really isn't right in the middle of a fun area of town. Canton has some things to do, but you will need a rental car to get around. I'd also check out the surroundings on Google Earth (shows satellite images of the area).
I don't know how much they've expanded since I've been there, but it should take you a few hours to get through everything at the HoF. After that, you can make your way down to the Belden Village area (10 minutes away from the Hall of Fame) to find something to eat (there's a mall there: Westfield Shoppingtown..but most people remember it as the Belden Village Mall) --there is an extraordinarily high number of restaurants for the area. There is one really nice place to eat at in downtown Canton (which isn't by Belden Village)--Peter Shearer's, but you need a reservation and it's pretty expensive (and probably not for kids). Just head out to the Belden Village area for your food needs. They have something for everyone.
The Akron/Canton airport is nice; much better than flying into the Cleveland airport. But--Whatever you do, get a rental car. You will be hard pressed to find a cab to take you anywhere after they drop you off at the HoF. You'd have to call them and request a pick up, and it will get pricey.
Last thing: Ohio weather is weird. I don't know when you're coming here, but March/April is unpredictable. Sometimes we get snow. Sometimes it's ridiculously hot. Sometimes it's in between. You never know. A couple weeks ago we had 72 degree weather, and then two days later we had 4 inches of snow on the ground. Really weird. Well that's all I can think of for now! Have fun in Canton!

A: Hi there, I bought a car a few years ago from Mike Pruitt Honda, it's on Brittain Rd. by Chapel Hill Mall. Talk to Patty Eddy, she is a real good salesperson. That's the only dealer I've ever dealt with, and I know that they sell used cars too. You could always try Fred Martin Superstore on Barber Rd. in Barberton too..they have tons of cars and from the commercials they seem to deal well with people. Good Luck!

A: Unless u are really lucky, any car costing less than 2 grand is going to have some kind of problem. It might need engine or transmission work,it might need front or rear end work,it might be tricky to register. Good luck!

Hello everyone. I am moving to Cuyahoga falls, Ohio. This is a bit north of Akron and about 20min or so south of Cleveland. It is situated very much "next to" Lake Erie.
I am moving in 3wks with my girl. Now, I know what weather is like here in Cincy. I am however not familiar with the weather like in Akron area. Are the winters pretty bad? Do they last longer / start sooner? Is it stormy and wet during Spring / Summer? That kinda stuff.
Right now I drive a lowered FWD car and am thinking of going up to a AWD due to a combination of road conditions and if needed for the winters. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
A: Hi. I live about 15 miles north of Cuyahoga Falls. Even though my location is closer to the lake, the climate should be pretty comparable.
Unlike Cincy, Cleveland definitely gets more snow.
In the fall, average temperatures range from 65 degrees Farenheit down to 30 degrees Farenheit. Average winter temperatures range from 38 degrees to about 18 degrees. Average spring temperatures range from 29 - 69 degrees Farenheit.
In my opinion, Cleveland weather can be very unpredictable. Generally, the summers are pretty warm with an average of about 85 - 90 degrees. But there tends to be occasional unseasonably hot days and unseasonably mild days. During this past week, we've experienced cooler temps. and cloudy to partly cloudy days. But the week prior to then we experienced temps. in the mid-to-high 90's. This year, the summer temperatures really kicked in during the first week of June. May was pretty rainy, with mild temps of about 58-73 degrees. Last year, Fall officially kicked in around the second or third week of October.
The occasional unseasonable weather also applies to the fall and winter months. Despite the average temps., there may be a 73-degree day in late October or early to mid November or even a week or so of freezing temps.(highs of 25 degrees and below) in January or early February.
Winter snows have tended to be most abundant throughout January, in recent years, while lighter snows tend to occur during late November through mid December. There usually tends to be one to two prominent snow storms throughout the season. AWD would be very helpful during these times.
Spring this year was about average with the exception of flash flooding in certain areas.

we have really rude neighbors. we have a driveway side by side. they have 20 people living in one house. they have 8-10 cars in one driveway. i have one car and cant ever get into my driveway. how many cars are there aloud to be at one's house. isnt there a limit to how many cars are at someone house? i live in the akron area. isnt it 4 cars? or higher?
A: I see two problems here. They can not block your drive. 20 people in the house could be a violation with fire codes, or with the welfare of children. Are they drug dealers? Are all the vehicles registered? Are they insured? Park your car at the end and leave for the weekend. They can't use your drive then. Put up a camera and get evidence on them. Check your building regulations and put up a fence. File tresspassing charges if needed.
Q: I have a scotties/masters soap box car that is running a lot slower than other cars, how do I get it faster?

A: I'm guessing you've checked the basics like wheel bearings and grease and such? If not, start there. Make sure everything is thoroughly oiled and turns as it should.

I was wondering if anyone on here has ever done business with Best Deals Auto Sales out of Akron (Kenmore) Ohio, and how their experience was? I am looking at a car from them but I justed wanted to do some research, for example, are they going to fix a problem the car has or just cut the wires so the light doesn't flash on the dash anymore, ya know what I mean?
A: While you are waiting for more direct answers, you should call the local Better Business Bureau and see what info they have on the dealership.
