Q: What's the cheapest way to Hickory from Durham?
I don't have a car and so my range of opportunity is slightly limited. From what I understand, I may be able to take the train from Durham to Greensboro, then take buses? Does anyone know a more specific way to get there?
A: Just take the bus the whole way. There are Greyhounds that travel down I40 every 15 minutes. You won't have any problem and fortunately for you it isn't that far from Hickory to Durham so you won't have to ride on those God forsaken things very long!!
Good luck.

Q: What is there to do on a vacation in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina (Wilmington)?
We will be staying ON the beach but are interested in going to Wilmington for shopping and such too. Also, we will be driving from Greensboro so anything to do on the route from Greensboro to Wrightsville Beach to make our 3 hour car ride more interesting would be very much appreciated! Thanks ya'll! :)
A: If you are driving from Greensboro you could always stop in Raleigh or Durham on your way to the beach. There are tons of state museums that are great and are located in Raleigh. I would also check out the north Carolina aquariums that are located on the coast. They are lots of fun for rainy days. Downtown Wilmington is also really nice. I would suggest taking a carriage ride downtown, visiting the battleship, or visiting the historic houses in the downtown area. Also, remember that other beaches are really close so you can always take a short day trip to see what other beaches have to offer such as the fort near Kure beach.
Q: car dealer that except debit cards in the Greensboro, High point, winston salem, kernersville, for a down paym
A: Do they serve donuts in the showroom?
Q: Which Airport should I fly into if I am staying in Burlington? Greensboro or Raleigh
I am attending a wedding and would like to know which airport is better as far as flights, rental cars and general accessibility.
A: I think they're pretty close to even as far as distance.
I would check prices into each airport and choose the one that is cheaper.
But my mind boggled when someone said that Greensboro has "far less traffic hassles." Greensboro traffic is a bit of a mess, and flying into Greensboro and driving to Burlington, you have to drive through that.
Flying into RDU, you really don't have much traffic to deal with.
Q: Anyone know for car detailing...in Greensboro, NC?
Looking for a professoinal detailer thats excellent at doing that job right for my black mazda 3 2004. Need some touchups for the outside only and have basically it all waxed up for the summer.
A: Check the on line yellow pages and cross check with the local better business bureau to be sure you have a good one.
Q: Do anyone know if any car rental place rent car to 23 year old in greensboro, NC for a cheap deal?
A: Must be 25 years of age to rent a car.
Q: Does anyone know how people drive in Greensboro,nc. I am going there in a week and wanted to know!?
I live in Miami and i wanted to know b/c i am renting a car and i was hoping they don't drive as crazy as miami drivers! Tell me roads i should avoid...etc
A: Greensboro drivers are pretty OK, usually. They do not do well in rain or snow, and I have noticed that some of them have not been using turn signals consistently, so watch out for cars randomly turning in front of you. But overall, I'd say better than drivers in most cities--they follow most traffic laws to a reasonable extent.
Greensboro, for the most part, is a medium-sized city without a lot of traffic issues. Limit the time you spend on Wendover Avenue (towards the Exit 214 area--Wendover near the downtown area isn't so bad). Also beware of High Point Road/Lee Street (the same road, at different points) because the Coliseum is there and if there is an event going on, there will be a lot of traffic. Lee St. also has signs over the lanes that tell if the lane is open (green) or the wrong way (red), which I think is odd.
Market St. and Friendly Ave. are good east/west routes through the city. In the downtown area, most streets are one-way at some point, so you may have to circle the block a bit if you aren't sure where you're going.
Hope this helps & hope you enjoy your visit!

used car lots in Greensboro, NC or near it??? cheap down payments?
need reliable car for me and my son, would like 4 door, cheap down payment, just something for about a year until i can buy a new one....any suggestions>??? thanks!
A: If you want to buy a high quality used car with a lowest price for the most reliable,I suggest you try auto auctions.
There are there kinds of car auctions.
Dealer only auctions --- only licensed dealers are allowed to buy or sell cars,You can not get in or bid without being a licensed car dealer or an employee.
Public auctions --- the public is allowed in.In fact, you usually cant by anything from public 'open' auctions because usually the pricing is too high.
Government and Police auctions --- Every day, the government confiscates, seizes and repossesses thousands of Vehicles. These vehicles are usually typically listed at 90% OFF their original value and auctions usually start at $100.
Two months ago,I bouht a near new SUV from online police auction. It only cost me $730.
I followed the guide on
http://www.usedcarsinfo.info/index.php?t=usedcar .That site listed top 5 Police auction sites and help you choose the best one.
Hope that help you.
Q: Commuting from Chapel Hill to Greensboro?
How's the commute from Chapel Hill into Greensboro by car? I have some job prospects in Greensboro but my friends are in Chapel Hill, and I would like to live there so I can be in close contact with them and the cultural activities available in the Chapel Hill area. I would be commuting in daily to Greensboro.
A: A lot depends on where in Greensboro you are going to work and how flexible your schedule can be.
The Greensboro metro area is pretty sprawling and extends pretty far east and west of downtown. Also, I40/I85 can be very challenging at rush hour. If you can avoid rush hour, and live and work close to the interstate you can expect your commute to be under an hour which is reasonable in many areas of the country.
Other places to consider living are Burlington and Pittsboro. Both of these are popular places that are convenient to Greensboro and Chapel Hill.
Q: do you know where the cars are for 99.00$in greensboro are held ?
it was on the radio102.1 and the news 3 days ago?
A: It's called bait and switch.
Once on the lot or showroom, you may never see it, if it exists. If so, they may, may, have had one. Either way, it was sold just before you got there, but, we have this one, yadda, yadda, yadda.
Q: Is it possible to find a rental cars history?
I bought a car from a lady I work with (it's a 1999 Chevy Lumina), and I bought a carfax report after I bought it for fun to just see it's history, and it turns out it was a rental car in Greensboro, NC for a year. Now, I will say this car is an excellent car, with no problems whatsoever, and it never has anything major (just the usual things car have like batteries or tires). In my opinion it is as dependable as a new car, and one of the best cars I've owned. For fun, (I'm really into the history of my cars), is there any possible way to see the history of my car when it was a rental? All I know was that it was in Greensboro, NC, but I dont know which company owned it. It says it was a major company is all..... Is there some type of way I can see it's history? The carfax report doesn't help me, because I want to know about it WHEN it was a rental.
Thanks!
A: There are no such stats anywhere for that.
Your only option would be to contact the rental car company and ask them. And I guarantee they will not help you. Most businesses don't keep records, even in their computers, for more than 7 years.
