Q: some serious legal advice for one serious issue?
consider the hypothetical story:
if i had a friend who's cousin's dad went on a date with a girl in the yonkers area of new york in the summer of 1962. if apparently they got drunk and if he strangled her while they were having rough sex in his car. and if he drove her body upstate and covered it in a wooded area with leaves and a sheet of particle wood.
if he told me this while we were playing a game of pool in 2006 and he was drinking, but i thought it is credible, because...i will not go into specifics but i thought i had reason to believe that i may have located her remains. should i call police, and could he get charged in that situation?
A: Yes, Please tell the local law enforcement authorities. Go to their office and ask to speak with someone in the investigation or detective division. Give them the information as you know it and show them what you can to help them. The victim had a family. They need your help also.
Q: This actually happened to me (& is Funny LOL)?
Willys cynical thought for the day;
People should learn to laugh at themselves, why let everybody else have all the fun?
To prove that I'm not a hypocrite, here is my latest. I guess most people getting these jokes know I've been wearing an Insulin pump since 2002, I've been diabetic since 1974! Well, May 14th at around 5 pm I was in St. Johns Hospital Emergency Room for insulin shock. As a nurse, Margaret I believe but don't quote me at around 11, was signing me out I finished, in my mind I been writting it a while, this joke. I told it to her and just about everybody in the ER and the Security Guards at the front of the hospital, they all said, it's a good one! Here it is;
I was taking a Metro-North train home, and the cars were crowded, a young girl -- late twenties gets on and sits by my left side. She notices my computing device hanging from my left pocket, and asks me what that is? I say, "my insulin pump." She gets very turned on and we spend the trip sloppy-kissing. In Yonkers, a city a few stops before my town, she invites me up to her place. I accept and we're soon butt naked all over her bed. I'm just about to slide my meat into her when she asks, "So when you gonna turn the god-damned pump on?"

Q: 99 Dodge Gr. Caravan stalled and broke down on expressway--URGENT help?
Got into a really dangerous situation the other night outside of NYC my car broke down in between two lanes on a curve>>
All I remember in between the insanity is that the whole car froze up > I couldn't press on the gas pedal any longer [it wouldn't depress, it was stuck] and the steering wheel froze, and the dashboard shut down while the oil light started flashing, and then nothing. When i tried to key the ignition, it wouldn't respond, at first, but then it did suddenly, and I was able to get my car miraculously to a Mobil station. A towing company arrived, checked the oil, said we needed an oil change, but that that probably wasn't the cause of the shutdown. he recommended i get back on the expressway, get to a jiffy lube asap, which i did but then it stalled again before i could even make it 5 mins. this time i couldn't restart the engine at all, and each time i tried the key, the only response i got was a rapid succession of sharp clacking noises. . AAA took the car, and have been tinkering away at it for days now, but I was told that AAA isn't a reliable repair service, that they were primarily a towing company and i couldn't trust them to fix the car - partic. after 24 hours and they couldn't even diagnose the problem. So tomorrow -monday - the cars going to be towed to a local, more 'trusted' mechanic who was recommended [in Yonkers], but I am afraid that he might also not be able to even diagnose the problem, let alone fix it. HELP!!!
Anybody had problems such as this? Anybody a Dodge specialist? I'm just trying to get as many opinions as possible so I can shoot the guy a list of potential problems to perhaps expedite the diagnosis process...
The car had been serviced in November, quite recently and has driven like a dream until now -- in case it helps, ill list what was recently replaced.. spark plugs , ignition wires, fuel filter, egr valves and the transducer assembly, and damaged vacuum lines and elbows were repaired...
thank you in advance for any input!
Oh, and I know squat about cars...

Q: Help with picking an area of outer NYC to live???
I'm a student transferring to a school in the bronx and will be moving downstate because of it. I was looking at places in the city, but I have found a series of crazy potential roommates, greedy brokers and/or exorbitant prices- since I'd like to make this area my home (actually sign a lease and stay put for 2yrs+), I was thinking it might be cheaper and more reasonable to pick an area just outside of the city, in walking distance to a metro (want to sell my car). I have heard everything from Yonkers to NJ, but I have no idea!!! Where is a good place to settle in the nyc area (SUPER close) without being in it?
A: Southern Westchester County is where you want to be. Yonkers, New Rochelle, Pelham, Mt Vernon, and mamaroneck are all on the Metro North train lines and will allow you to commute by rail.
Yonkers and Mount Vernon are the closest bedroom communities to the Bronx, and you do not have to cross a bridge or leave the state to get there.
Contact a real estate broker in one of those towns and tell then you are looking for a rental (no fee). They'll be able to help you. If an agent is less than professional or demands a fee, sack them.
Q: Any bad experiences in the NY area with auto dealer Baron Auto Mall/World?
Hello, I recently purchased a car from Baron Auto Mall in Yonkers, NY. Shortly thereafter it went out of business. Although I signed the contract, I believe they used some illegal measures- for example, I'm paying more each month than they said i would, and the bank says that I can't do anything about it. Also, The papers they gave me to fill out, I hand wrote on them. When I asked for a copy of the application from the bank (the bank that Baron suggested I use), it was typewritten. The bank and Baron might be working together, so I don't know who to ask. I can't really afford to hire a lawyer, and I don't even know if I should try because I'm not sure if they did something illegal or if I just got legitimately scammed. Any advice would be welcome, or even any stories of people who also had bad experiences with this company.
A: Your payments are higher than the dealer SAID they would be... but are they higher than the payments you SIGNED to on the contract? If the contract shows those higher monthly payments, they are yours. You may have purchased an extended warranty or some sort of insurance, or maybe the dealer even raised the price. Whatever the case, the paperwork you sign is legally binding. Oral agreements are not.
As far as your application, this may also be legit. The dealer keeps the handwritten application, but they submit your info to the bank by computer. The bank doesn't keep old-fashioned filing cabinets around, they store everything electronically. (They do have your original paperwork on file somewhere, but it's usually in some fire-safe warehouse.) So when you ask them for a copy of your application, they print one off the computer and send it to you. Now, does the printed application match the info on the handwritten application? If not, then there may be a problem.
Sounds like you are just looking for a way out of your contract. There might be one, but you will have to do more digging.
Q: Help! Anyone know Yorktown/Shrub Oak area in Westchester County, NY?
I have a job interview there on Friday and I live in Yonkers. The problem is that my car is in the shop and wont be ready until Monday. The company said that they want to do interivews this week so of course I said I could. Now I have no idea how I am going to get there. Is the metro north near there. I need to go to Old Yorktown Rd in Shrub Oak!
Thanks :)
A: The closest Metro North station to Shrub Oak would be Peekskill on the Hudson line, which is about 6 miles away.
Perhaps you can call for a cab at the MNRR station.
Hope this helps, and good luck.

Q: What movie(s) did the songs from WALLE come from?
The first song went something like this: Out there, there's a town outside of Yonkers, Listen Barnaby....
and the second one: It only takes a moment to be loved a whole life long.....
Third: Put on your Sunday clothes, there's lots of world out there, we'll ride in one of those new horse-driven cars...
I'm assuming they come either from an old 40's film or were written specifically for WALLE.
Does anyone know for sure?
A: they are all from Hello Dolly.
"The songs "Put On Your Sunday Clothes" and "It Only Takes a Moment" from Hello Dolly! were used because they inspired the symbolism of WALL-E wanting to hold hands with EVE."

Q: Telfair was allegedly found with a gun at a traffic stop in Yonkers, did he get in trouble for it ?
Police said Telfair, who was driving, produced a Florida driver's license that had been suspended. Westchester County Police Officer Adrian Camacho subsequently found a loaded .45-caliber handgun under the front passenger seat, Westchester County police spokesman Kieran O'Leary said.
A short time later Camacho discovered a loaded .45 caliber handgun under the front passenger seat, O'Leary said.
Telfair and a passenger in the car, Al Eden Fuentes, 28, of Queens, were both charged with second-degree possession of a weapon, a felony. Telfair was also hit with a misdemeanor charge of second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and issued summonses accusing him of speeding and driving without a license violations.
"He was very polite and cooperative with our officer,'' O'Leary said of Telfair, who along with Fuentes was being held by county police this morning.
A: Again?
Q: DWI -YONKERS - NY - What happens next?
My borther in law was arrested saturday because of a DWI, actualy its more than that, he was also isued a ticket for refusing to use de breathalyzer (hes says they never ask him that), also a ticket for hit and run, he says that he didnt hear nothing, and his car shows no scratches. He aslo has no NY valid licence since he got into the country iligaly. We are going to consult a lawyer. I was never involved with something like this, and I want to help him the best that I can. He has no past problems, this is the first time something like this happen to him. I just hope they don't deport him.
Please if you have some information that you would like to share I would appretiate, so I can be ready asnd be abble to comunicate beter with the lawyer. PLEASE, no lectures, WE KNOW he messed up.
Thank you in advance
We are going to Hire a lawyer, and thats why I got this question here, to understand better the the case before I see him.
Thanks
A: Usually what happens when a person is arrested for DWI is they lose their licence for 6 Months, and sentanced to Probation.
After reading your story, I think I have an idea of what might happen if he is conviced of these charges.
The judge will probably place him on 2 Years Probation, and maybe community service. Seeing as though he doesnt have a Drivers Licence he will be restricted from applying for one for 6 months, and unable to register a vehicle for 1 Year. His case might be turned over to the immigration services, and very well might get deported.
I would consult a lawyer on this one. He knows the NY laws and will give you legal advice. Good Luck

Q: Not using public transportation, what's the least expensive way to get to Yonkers from LGA?
Shuttle (van, or car service, or any one going that way on 31 Aug 2007 around 5 pm)
A: The Bus will always be cheapest but since you have a few options up there already I would try and find someone who has a car service. Ex. I would ask a normal cab or taxi the rate it is to where I am going and if they say the rate is $50 you say okay
walk away and try to find a car service or someone who is trying to make a few bucks and tell them you need thier service but ask them the price and tell them you already know the price of the trip and you will offer them$35 something like that.
So they won't feel cheated but at the same time you have saved enough. Hope this helps. If you need further tips on the let me know.
