Q: I'm going too Seattle for New Years and want too see the fireworks at the SpaceNeedle, info inside please help?
I live in Brentwood California and most of my family lives in Vancouver Canada, we decided we would all meet in seattle this year! From the 23rd too the 2nd of January! We want too go downtown Seattle and be very close too the space needle, so we can see the fireworks up close and film it and take pictures. We know it will be crazy but wanna do it anyways! I was wondering...we are going too be Driving from the hotel too the Space Needle... we saw on Google maps there's a triangle like parking lot near the tower, we were hoping too park there a couple hours before Midnight! Do you know if all parking lots down there are closed and only for people walking so they can watch? Are the streets closed? So what I'm asking is...would we be able too do what we planed or would we have too do something else? If so any recommendations or advise? Also is there any ware in the city we can watch the fireworks but still stay in the car? Thank you very much and Happy Holidays!

A: Hey, I'm a Marilyn Monroe fan, too! Well, here's what I know for sure. There are many places in Seattle where you can park the car and see the Space Needle (and given some of the cold weather we've had lately, that might be a very good idea come New Years Eve). Some of the best places are on Queen Anne Hill (directly above the Seattle Center) and Capitol Hill. But lots of other people will have the same idea of parking and watching from their cars, so you'd better scout out your parking spot in the daylight and get there early so that you don't miss out on a good one! As for parking, I believe all the parking lots in the vicinity of the Space Needle will be open. (If very cold, you could even stay in your car from many of the parking lots and see the Needle clearly.) The most fun, though, will be to park and go stand under the Needle with the thousands of others who will be there. If the weather permits, the thing I would do is to park the car a few blocks away (maybe even for free on the street....parking meters don't run after 6pm) and walk to the base of the Needle and celebrate from there. But the "staying in the car" idea is an excellent one if its cold or rainy AND you can get an unobstructed view of the Needle. Have fun!

Q: Need recommendations on where to live in greater LA area?
My husband and I are planning to move there at the end of this year. My husband will be working in 2 offices of his company--downtown LA and Irvine in Orange County. We would like to find a neighborhood that wouldn't be too horrible to commute to either place. We would ideally like a neighborhood that has some shops/grocery/schools to walk to and not be confined to a car. We would also be looking for a place with good public schools. I think most of West LA (Brentwood/Bev Hills, etc.) are out of our budget, but we could spend $1.5 million on a house (however we would like something with space and a decent sized yard for the kids and dogs). I'd appreciate some recommendations on cities/neighborhoods to focus our search on. Thanks.

A: Hey, I just moved back to NY from that area, and I'm sorry, but you're going to be hard pressed to find anywhere that you're going to be walking to. The thing I would focus on the most is finding a city at the cross section of at least two freeways. For where you're saying, I'd probably say the the 405 and the 605. Take a look in Cerritos 90703 or Bellflower 90706. Bellflower has a really good town atmosphere if you're close to main street. They're always closing it down for little fairs and movies under the stars, etc. Good luck!

Q: LOVE ESSEX GIRL JOKES! READ THIS!?
what did the essex girls right leg say to her left leg,? nothing they've never met! what have the car lightbulb and the essex girl got in common.? they both get screwed on the front of a ford escort! what does an essex girl think of as safe sex? Locking the car door! loll. these did make me laugh! add your own! thanks... and please its just a bit of fun....i live in brentwood and think essex is the best place in the worlldddddddddddddddddddddddddddd! :)

A: 1) This young boy walks in on his parents having sex and gets pissed. His father however just laughed at him, so the the boy walks down the hall into his grandma's room and starts having sex with her. His father walks in to check on him and sees what's going on, and yells, hey man WTF. Then the son says uh hun you see it's not so funny when it's your mama is it? 2) There was this sailor and this soldier that had both died in a war at the same time and they both arrived in Heaven at the same time. St. Peter came and gave both of them their wings, but he warned them that if at any given time they had any inappropriate or unclean thoughts, their wings would automatically fall off. Just as they had put their wings on, this beautiful angel shimmed passed them with a nice smile and smellying real flesh and clean, and the soldiers wings fell right off. Then when the soldier bent over to pick up his wings, the sailors wings fell off. 3) There was this stripper at this bar who was notorious for her split that she did at the end of each of her acts. One day she got ready to do her act, and right before she went on stage, a cat (guy) spilled a drink on stage and it didn't get mopped up too well. So this time when she got ready to do her split, she lost her balance and hit the floor so hard that it took two hours and forty five minutes to break the suction. You should have heard the round of applauses she got when she hit that floor (LOL). 4) There was this couple that had been married for ten years, and for their tenth year anniversary they decided to go back to the same hotel they were in ten years ago for their honeymoon. They went back to the hotel and even got in the same hotel room they were in when they honeymooned. They drunk champaigne and everything was just perfect just as it was ten years ago when they got married. They where starring at each other from across the room in their robes, then they took the robes off. At a given signal they ran towards each other, but since they had been drinking all that champaigne they missed each other and the cat flew right out the window like two flights down. The bell man came rushing outside because he heard all this noise. The man says get me something to cover myself with i'm naked here I need to walk through the lobby so that I could get back up to my room. The bell man says you don't need nothing to cover yourself with, if you want to get back to your room, you can just walk on through the lobby because ain't nobody in the lobby. The mans says what you mean ain't nobody in the lobby, the bell man says ain't nobody in the lobby because everybody left to go upstairs to watch 'em take this chick off the door knob. 5) A few days after Christmas, a mother was working in the kitchen listening to her young son playing with his new electric train in the living room. She heard the train stop and her son said, "All of you sons of b---s who want off, get the hell off now, cause this is the last stop! And all of you sons of b---s who are getting on, get your --ses in the train, cause we're going down the tracks." The mother went nuts and told her son, "We don't use that kind of language in this house. Now I want you to go to your room and you are to stay there for TWO HOURS. When you come out, you may play with your train, but I want you to use nice language." Two hours later, the son comes out of the bedroom and resumes playing with his train. Soon the train stopped and the mother heard her son say, "All passengers who are disembarking from the train, please remember to take all of your belongings with you. We thank you for riding with us today and hope your trip was a pleasant one. We hope you will ride with us again soon." She hears the little boy continue, "For those of you just boarding, we ask you to stow all of your hand luggage under your seat. Remember, there is no smoking on the train. We hope you will have a pleasant and relaxing journey with us today." As the mother began to smile, the child added, "For those of you who are pissed off about the TWO HOUR delay, please see the --*ch in the kitchen."

Q: Is it okay to leave a six year old in the car by herself for a few minutes?
I know that you aren't supposed to leave kids in the car, but what are you supposed to do when they are sound asleep in the backseat? This afternoon I picked up my little sister from a friend's house, and she zonked out in the backseat. I had to stop at an art store on the way home, and she looked so peaceful I didn't want to wake her up. I just went into the store, got the supplies I needed and came right back out. I parked right in front of the store, and I kept looking out the window. We live in LA and it's 72 degrees today, and I kept a window cracked. And this was in Brentwood, which is a really nice area. Do you think what I did was okay? Normally, I would have just gone home, dropped her off and then gone to the store, but I have a project due on Monday and it would have been a serious backtrack. Please don't attack me for asking this. I'm 17. I don't normally drive them. I just don't know if what I did was okay. It's Hannah: she's not my daughter. She's my youngest sister. HLP: What is SIDS? I thought that was just for babies. I'm sorry, I don't know a lot of terms about kids. I'd like to know. Thx for answering. Btw: I'm not giving the thumbs downs. Hannah: No worries, I totally didn't take offense! : )

A: Its NEVER ok to leave a young child alone in a car.. it only takes a matter of seconds for her to be kidnapped, or for the child to wake up, see she's alone, and get scared.. she could have gotton out of the car to go looking for you and gotton lost. She may be peaceful fast asleep, but it would have been safer for you to wake her up, or do the back tracking to drop her off and then go back to the store.

Q: I can't start my car thanks to my anti-theft system. HELP!?
I am pissed! the stupid Rattler alarm on my nissan maxima went off the other day and now I can't start my car. I pushed the buttons on the key chain, I unhooked the battery to reset the damn thing!, I even got a jump just incase. I called the toll free number on the back of the key chain! I even called the freaking dealer! somebody please help I got christmas shopping to do and I have to go back to work on Monday! It's a long ass walk from Brentwood to Oakland let me tell ya! (lol)

A: As a last resort, check the key you use to start the car....some anti theft devices are programmed to the key...did it get a little worn....my daughters car (99 Grand Am GT) would not start a few years ago and we found out her key was bad since when you put it into the steering column it was creased and the anti theft sensor would not let it start......double check and replace the battery in your remote....

Q: Moving To Nashville, Only Serious Inquires Here Please!!!!!!?
I am moving to Nashville. I cant live close to downtown because my car insurance will be too high. I was thinking Fanklin TN, or possibly Brentwood. Are these areas really expensive to live in? Everything I have seen online for apartments seems ok, but I would like to know if there is good stuff that isnt listed. Or if possibly there is someone who knows of a good place and the price. Thanks.

A: Brentwood & Franklin are kinda expensive. But Madison, Goodlettsville, Hendersonville, Gallatin, West Nashville, etc are really good area, but not as expensive. They have alot of good apartments & the areas are good. These websites below might help. If you need any help email me.

Q: Daily travel without a car?
Travelling daily between san fernando valley from westwood/brentwood in Los Angeles....how can I do it without a car? I am new to LA and cant afford a car atleast for next 2-3 months. Please provide specific details about bus/train/shuttle...which would be faster?

A: well from the Valley (say Sepulveda/Ventura you can take a Metro rapid bus line 761 direct into Westwood (past UCLA) now you dont tells where in Westwood/brentwood you are going or where in the valley you are starting from as LADOT also have a route from Encino to Westwood since you didn't tell us where you are staring from or where you can save money by getting Metro passes you have two choice you can get a Metro ONLY pass for $62.00 or a EZ pass (good on all transit lines Including Santa Monica,. Culver city, LADOT, etc for $70.00 if you give more more information I can assist and tell exactly what routes to use to get to/from your desertion see my profile to email me)

Q: Best dry ski slope near london?
Have tried Brentwood and was wondering if there is anywhere where the slope is longer and steeper? Am rather restricted in that I don't have a car, so have to be able to get there by public transport. Any suggestions?

A: I would thoroughly recommend Ipswich dry ski slope at Wherstead. It is brilliant with both a good downhill run and mogul area. I know that it would not be easy for you to get to but try and make a day of it. They have an excellent restaurant for meals and drinks and a ski equipment shop. The other one that you might be able to access by public transport without too much hassle is Harlow which is based at their Leisure Centre. Of course don't forget the snowdome at Milton Keynes. I haven't visited that one but the one in Staffordshire is brilliant. Hope you get to try Ipswich, you will find the people there very friendly. Have fun!

Q: How's the traffic in Western Los Angeles??
I mean the affluent areas like the Bel Air,Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Holmby Hills, Malibu, Pacific Pallisades, Santa Monica and Westwood. Are these places very crowded?? I know that a car is important, but if I were to live in Bel Air or Brentwood (close to the UCLA), how much time will I take to go to the UCLA during the working days? What would be the best time for the traffic? Any information on this issue shall be regarded very important. Thanks a lot in advance.

A: Commuting to UCLA is fastest by walking assuming you stay in a dorm, or Greek House. Your automobile ride will average a minimum of 30 minutes from B.H., Brentwood, Holmby Hills. Your ride might be less from parts of Bel-Air or Westwood but factoring the parking situation, there is not a lot of difference. My ride from the S.V. Valley took on its best time 35 minutes, at worst 90 minutes and on average 50 minutes. Wherever you live, you will find great adventure in attempting to find the single best route. Your drive will be heavily congested but I find regular commuters to be polite, moderately patient and intolerant towards speedsters, pushy drivers and inattentive drivers. I handled the traffic problems by seeking to schedule classes two days a week (Tuesday-Thursday) or three days a week (Monday-Wednesday-Friday) to minimize commuting. I would also seek to schedule classes beginning at 11:00 A.M. or later and attending classes that ended at 7:00 P.M. or later also minimized driving. This assumes you are a student and not an employee. If you are employed in the medical field the worst shift to take is the 7:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. bcause these are highest traffic times. (Unless you are an M.D./Ph.D. I do not think you would be commuting from the high rent areas you mentioned). Forget about Malibu because between fires and landslides you will tear out your hair finding alternatives to Pacific Coast Highway... Traffic aside GREAT SCHOOL. GO BRUINS

Q: hi i live in brentwood, los angeles and saw a lot of cop cars and a search helecopter at kenter canyon?

Q: Brentwood Road Test?
ahhhh i'm taking my road test at brentwood on tuesday! i'm really nervous! haha i just have a few questions for anyone who has taken it there??? do you think it would look bad if i take my sisters car? its a 2007 jeep laredo...i'm only 16 so does it look bad i'm taking like a big car to the test? i heard the roads are one way? so then where do they make you do the 3-point turn? and do you do the parallel park ont he 1 way street? and do the roads have curbs?

A: No, it's fine for you to take your sister's car, but she needs to drive you to the test site and present her license. If you are talking about Brentwood, NY, then most of the roads are not one-way. You would do a three point turn down a two-way block. Parallel parking is on the street, but you don't park between two cars, just behind one.
