Q: rattling sound when turning rover sterling?
alright, i just like to find out what could cause a sort of rattling sound from the drive shaft - front wheel area on my car when im turning from corners in 1st... i appreciate every answer thanks in advace gregg

A: driveshaft knuckles, c.v. joints would make a clicking sound, more so on full lock, the first gear thing doesn't affect the cv joint one way or another, it's just when you have a lot of lock on you're usually going slow (unless drifting!) so it may appear to be doing it only in first.

Q: Why does my car alarm go off if i don't turn the key in the ignition within 30 seconds or so?
My car has a button on the key fob for the standard central locking and alarm/immobiliser which works fine. However, the car also has a Sterling Pro Alarm which has its own fob which i also have to press to disarm before entering the car. If i don't put the key in the ignition quickly the alarm goes off and I have to turn it off with the Sterling fob! This is really annoying and want to know why this is happening as I have had the car for a few months now and am still forgetting to put the key in fast! Anyone able to help please?! leedsmikey: why would this be happening when i have already disarmed the alarm before entering the car? I've never known another car that requires the ignition to be switched within 30 seconds! smeggedup: No, the aftermarket alarm and central locking aren't linked but i turn them both off individually before i enter which is why I am confused about the alarm going off once everything is disarmed! pen: A little over the top though isn't it considering I've just disarmed the standard and aftermarket immobilisers by pressing two seperate buttons and told the car i am its owner!

A: The 30 second delay is designed to ensure that someone breaking into your car doesn't have much time to start it. Additional Once you have disarmed it the system gives you 30 seconds to "prove" you are not trying to nick the car. I had the same system on my Frontera.

Q: Anyone know why Sterling Marlin is in the #40 this week?
I watched qualifying last week and was please to see Marlin qualified on time very well. I think he is like 16th or something. Anyway, I noticed he was in the #40 car. Just wondered what was going on. Is this the same #40 car as before, or a different one?

A: Sterling is just being a rent a driver and getting laps in wherever he can.

Q: Looking to build Electric Sterling Kit Car :) Need information!?
I would love to build a Sterling kit car with an electric engine! I've looked around but I am serioiusly conceptualizing it. I have seen photos of people who have already made some. Any advice on helping me complete this project? Where to buy parts the VW buug base, the whole kit, price of that? How would one make an electric engine? And is it possible to have AC and heat with electric? What would the charge be able to go off of? I have a butt load of questions but I would love to get started as soon as I can get every part needed :) http://www.sterlingsportscars.com/index/Owners_build-ups.html Jonathan Trotter's electric Sebring

Q: How much is a saleen s7 2003 car in english money pound sterling?
oh shoot you lot are ready to marry me because Im rich lol

A: Thats quite a lot of spare cash you have lying around if you're interested in one of those. Are you single? (Bet you look real nice too lol) I don't mind being your chauffer :P (Just joking) Haven't a clue how much, but looking around they range a lot if you can find one, I'd say maybe $400,000 = £216216.21 But you'd have to pay import duty and VAT on it and everything else. But if you're looking at that sort of money, then a little import duty probably wont be much of a problem

Q: How can I get from Sterling, VA to Fairfax, VA on public transportation? Well, other than a cab?
Bought a new car and have to pick up my old car.

A: Try the Fairfax and Loudoun County bus services - there's no train service. Links are given below: The Sterling Connector may seem your best bet.

Q: Why aren't Sterling Engines used in Cars?
Prius (Priuses, Priusi?) try to squeeze every last drop of waste energy from a car and convert it back to mechanical energy. If Toyota can add extra generators (and weight) to the braking system.... why aren't Sterling Engines used on a car engine to capture the wasted heat?

A: because no one has figured out how to make them work on this scale yet !

Q: Sterling Marlin(#14) and Joe Nemecheck(#13) are out of thier cars.?
NASCAR.com reports that Regan Smith will replace Sterling Marlin in the No. 14 car next week at Indy; Joe Nemecheck from duties in the No. 13 car; and Busch Series driver Aric Almirola will split the races with Mark Martin in the No. 01 car. Almirola will complete 5 more race in the Busch Series for Joe Gibbs Racing. Almirola's first Cup race will be at Watkins Glen.

A: This is further proof a DEI/Ginn merger. By the Brickyard 400, Paul Menard will have the #13's points and be guarenteed a spot in the race. Here is the DEI/Ginn Lineup for 2008 #01 - Mark Martin/Aric Almirola (US Army) #8 - Martin Truex Jr. (Bass Pro) #14 - Regan Smith (Ginn Resorts & Casino or Waste Mngt) #15 - Paul Menard (Menards)

Q: How much in sterling does a car cost to be resprayed?

A: In the UK a naff respray will cost £500-700 at a rubbish bodyshop. For a profesional respray in a real bodyshop expect to pay £1000-£2500. Remember to ask to see some of thier work before you hand over your hard earned cash. cos a bad shop cannot get it right the first time, they wont get it right the second or third time.

Q: I was following another car out of the town of Mt Sterling and a Officer pulled me over for speeding thru town
I was following another car out of the town of Mt Sterling and a Officer pulled me over for speeding thru town. Which I thought he should have pulled both of us over not just me. But while he was explaning the ticket to me he had to step back and spit tabacco juice out on the road. Is there a law about spitting on a public road and wouldn't that fit under littering?

A: How would he pull you both over? If he kept on after the second car after you pulled over, what would prevent you from leaving? Usually laws against spitting apply to the sidewalk, not the road.

Q: Can someone clarify the Sterling Marling sponsorship situation this year with the #14 car?
I bought a brand new Waste Management #14 hat and now it seems like hes got a new car every week. Wikipedia has him as "Waste Management / Panasonic / Ginn Resorts/Pepboys auto" for his cars. This weekend apparently hes driving the Wiley X Eyewear Chevy. Does he just drive these funky non-Waste Management cars at funky tracks like in Sonoma this weekend?

A: Waste management has a partial sponsorship.

Q: when the british councils put their hard earned car parking tkt funds into Icelandic banks was it is sterling?
Surely it is a gamble if otherwise as they ciould lose all the extra interest in fluctuations of currencies or fees for exchanging money ...These stupid arrogant pricks that are controlling our council taxes that should be was it in sterling accounts

A: The government told the councils that they should spread their money round several different banks & are now looking the other way.

Q: What is the best thing to use to clean solid sterling silver? ( .925 purity silver)?
I found and purchased an antique car collection for my father for Christmas. It has small, individual cars grooved into 1-inch silver chunks. It needs to be cleaned before I give it to him. But I'm afraid I'll damage it. Have any solutions? Thanks in advance! anyone agree with k-mom's answer? ok, now I don't know what to think!?! can someone assure me that these methods won't ruin them?

A: Actually, I found a site that recommends some of the methods already listed: Silver tarnishes when exposed to air. This occurs more quickly in damp and foggy weather, but is inevitable in any climate. Store in treated paper or cloth, or plastic film. Methods of cleaning silver should be determined by the value placed on it, monetary or sentimental, and the design of the pattern. Silver with deeply "carved" patterns that are enhanced by an oxide or French gray finish should be hand polished with a high quality silver cream or polish. Hand rubbing develops patina on silver which adds to its beauty. Ornamental silver pieces that have been lacquered may be washed in lukewarm water; hot water could remove the lacquer. Polishing silver while wearing rubber gloves promotes tarnish. Instead, choose plastic or cotton gloves. Silver has enemies. Rubber severely affects silver. Rubber corrodes silver, and it can become so deeply etched that only a silversmith can repair the damage. Raised designs can be lost permanently. Avoid using storage cabinets or chests with rubber seals, rubber floor coverings, rubber bands, etc. Other enemies of silver include table salt, olives, salad dressing, eggs, vinegar and fruit juices. Serve these foods in china or glass containers. Although flowers and fruit look lovely in silver containers, the acid produced as they decay can etch the containers and cause serious damage. When using silver containers, use plastic or glass liners. Baking Soda: Apply a paste of baking soda and water. Rub, rinse, and polish dry with a soft cloth. To remove tarnish from silverware, sprinkle baking soda on a damp cloth and rub it on the silverware until tarnish is gone. Rinse and dry well. Aluminum Foil, Baking Soda, and Salt: Place a sheet of aluminum foil in the bottom of a pan, add 2-3 inches of water, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon salt, and bring to a boil. Add silver pieces, boil 2-3 minutes, making sure the water covers the silver pieces. Remove silver, rinse, dry, and buff with a soft cloth. This method cleans the design and crevices of silver pieces. Toothpaste: To clean off tarnish, coat the silver with toothpaste, then run it under warm water, work it into a foam, and rinse it off. For stubborn stains or intricate grooves, use an old soft-bristled toothbrush. No, I DON'T guarantee it!
