Chapter 1
I’m fourteen. Never been kissed. Never been on a date and never had a guy like me the way I liked him. It’s sad, pathetic and crappy. But, it’s my pathetic, crappy and sad love life. My heart has been bruised, cracked and broken many times.
I first started liking Bjorn in seventh grade. It wasn’t anything big, just a little crush. It soon faded away and then I started liking Ryan. Gee, that was a rough road. The problem with him was that he didn’t even know that I existed on planet Earth. That thing lasted for five miserable months. My heart finally mended its wounds and recovered.
After that eighth grade started. People would branch out and go to all kinds of different high schools. St. Vincent’s, Marine Catholic, M.S.A. and San Marine. The school my friends and I would attend. Except for my friend Shana. Her father wanted her to go to San Marine and her mom wanted her to go the St. Vincent’s. It wouldn’t be right if she went to a different school. Our group of friends wouldn’t be complete.
The first day of eighth grade was the ordinary first day back to school. Seeing everybody again, getting a new schedule and going back to homework, and seeing old flames that still burnt in the recesses of my heart. As Shana’s mom pulled up in front of the school I peered out the window, searching the sea of students for anybody I recognized. We clambered out of the car and slung our empty backpacks around our shoulders. I stared at the school.
“So, what do you want to do?”
“I don’t know. Go to the spot?”
“Sure.” We walked across the lawn and down the cement steps to our spot. The spot was a group of four benches clustered together under two tall Oak trees. We always sat there. Rain or shine. We discovered it in the seventh grade and we sat there ever since. I beamed, as I looked at all my friends. Anna, Julia, and Sierra. “How was your summer?” I asked. “Um, we saw around the Summer Katherine.”
“Oh yeah. Duh!” Then the bell rang. Ugg. Summer vaca was officially over and we scattered to our first class. My first class was Earth science. Mr. Billings. I had him before in sixth grade so I new what he was like. A bit strict and liked to tease the girls. I walked across the bridge and looked at the creek, it was completely dry and weeds had grown in the bed. I walked into the classroom and sat in some random seat. Everything was familiar.
The final bell rang and the announcements came on. I stared at the back door as the announcements dragged on. Then Mr. Billings rang his annoying silver bell and the class looked groggily up at him. I did too, snapping out of my reverie. “Welcome back guys.” He said in his low voice. We groaned and he chuckled. He then started passing out manila folders. “There is a bunch of paper work in here for you parents to fill out. They’ll have fun tonight.” Yep, that was him, always joshing or teasing. He then went over the rules again. I new all the rules so I fell back into my reverie.
I was startled when the bell rang and I gathered my stuff and headed out the room, holding my schedule. I had art next with Ms. Elliot. I walked up the ramp and sighed. Back to school. Then I looked up as I opened to door to the art studio. My face grew hot and I was probably blushing as I looked in to the warm chocolate eyes of Bjorn.
Chapter 2
“H-hi.” I stuttered. “How was your summer?”
“Good.” I smiled and asked Ms. Elliot were I should sit. “Right over there. Next to Bjorn.” She pointed to the third desk in the third row. I sat down and glanced at him. He got way taller and his hair was a dark brown color from the sun. His skin was a light russet color. And his eyes…captivating. He turned toward me and our eyes met. My face felt like it was going to melt right off and my heart was thumping ever so fiercely. He looked at me and I looked at him. Our eyes staring into each other’s. Then there was the shrill sound of the bell and we looked up at Ms. Elliot.
“Good Morning everyone. Welcome to visual arts. Let me tell you everything were going to do this year.” She walked to her desk, rummaging through some papers and passed them out to each row. The girl in front of me handed me the papers. I think her name was Mary. Yes, it was Mary. I took the papers and filed one out for my self and reached my arm back to give them to the kids behind me.
I then felt the sharp edge off the paper slash against my finger. “Shoot.” I murmured. Then the blood seeped out of the cut in my finger. I hate the smell and look of blood. It just creeps me out. I hate the smell of blood, rusty and strong. It always mad me dizzy. So I held my breath and balled my
hand into a fist and shoved it into my pocket, while trying to pay attention.

A: Why are you writing this. Unless its for a class and you're being forced to write, I suggest that you stop.
After reading chapter one, you'd have to pay me to read chapter two. I dont't understand why anyone would want to read about your utterly boring, completely average existence as a run-of-the-mill high school student.
Your descriptions are terrible. For instance, "your medium sized TV". Even worse was your description of your friend. "Sarah is that girl who isn't gorgeous but isn't ugly either."
You spent absolutely no time on this and it shows. It reads like you just started typing about a few things you remembered. If you have a story to tell that you think we'd want to hear, then that's fine. But your first chapter should be relevent to that story.
Also, your spelling and grammar and punctuation need improvement. Ronde-Vu, unless your spelling is some kind of joke, should be spelled rendezvous.
You tell us absolutely nothing interesting about yourself. What you do tell us about yourself, gives an impression of a below average intelligence, boring person.
Frequently, you pass up opportunities to do so. Why not at least humor us with some antecdotes. Like: How do you cheat? What are your trophys for?

A: Never start anything with "The rules" its a good way to have your reader lose interest and shut their mind on your paper. Start with the description of Brislin Stadium and your friends and then go into the rules after you have grabbed your readers by having them get some empathy for your characters and setting.

Prelude: Out Late
It was silent. In the dark hours of the morning, only the wing beats of an owl could be heard against the valley’s now still ghost town and the forest that surrounded it. The splendor of the naturally encroached town was indeed a sight to behold. The evergreens, weeping willows, and flowers had moved in as neighbors with the long since dusty houses. The streets were vacant and the grass of the lawns had grown to several feet, extending out to envelop cars and street lights their firm clutches. Tall trees that grew in a seemly random fashion, cast their long, deep silhouettes against abandoned dwellings. It would be easily possible to walk through the length of the town and never notice it for what it was. Morgan Hill had without a doubt, fallen under the power of Mother Nature.
If one were to hold his gaze over an area for long enough, the slightest movement could be seen in between the tall, ominous trees. Four humanoid figures, dressed in a black that complimented the shadowy sky and earth, could just be viewed through the morning fog rolling in over the hills. Once they reached their destination, a house just off of what was once Main Street; they halted and moved close together.
The shortest individual of the group stated, “Hey, Jesse, there is a house across the way. You should be able to get up on the roof. We can flush them out if you take them down. You can take Andrew with you as back up.”

Brady hissed out, “Shit. I forgot them. Ah well looks like its windows again. I’ll get right on it.”
Jesse thought for a few seconds and said, “This house looks like it has a basement, so maybe the roof idea isn’t so good,” at this decision, Jesse shouldered a .22 CZ 452 sniper rifle and unhooked the strap over his , “We’ll have to all go in. Ok I want two teams of two. Brady and I will take basement. And Andrew and Jt will take the upstairs. Ok?” Three oks sounded off. “Now Brady, how quietly can you get the window open?”
Brady’s reply was a half smirk and slithered over to the front window. The frame was four by five with two panes. The glass looked as though it hadn’t been touched in a year. This is actually probably a pretty accurate description. Most of the houses looked like they had missed some major upkeep. Brady moved to the right pane and reached for his back pocket. He pulled out a pocket knife and proceeded to quietly unscrew and pop the window out. “Jt, Andrew, come over here and help me catch the window.” They stirred and sneaked to the window. They stood behind Brady, making a triangular shape. Brady pulled the window out and down and then ducked. The pane fell neatly into the outstretched arms of Jt and Andrew. They took three steps back and laid the glass over the four foot tall lawn.
Jesse motioned for all four of them to step over the wall, through the window and into the house. Once inside, all four slid out their .45 pistols with the gracefulness of professionals and performed a routine search of the front room. “All clear,” said Andrew. Jesse put a vertical finger across his mouth with a pointed look at Andrew and motioned for everyone to check the first floor.
Jesse and Brady crept through the hallway to the left, while Jt and Andrew took the right. After a quick search, nothing of importance was found. It was clear that whoever had owned the house had left in a hurry. Canned foods were piled on the table, along with other nonperishable items. The cupboards were all wide open and things were thrown askew across the floor. Pictures hung sideways on the walls and half packed suitcases were laid over the carpet in the family room.
We circled the downstairs and met back near the front door, where the entrance to the basement and the stairs were. Jesse motioned over to me and pointed to the only door we hadn’t opened yet, the basement door, and held up a hand for me to wait. Q: Pricing a landscaping job correctly...?
I've posted a couple other questions about similiar pricing problems before here...but this is a tough one for me. This regular customer of mine I mow lawn for weekly, want's me to see if i can get rid of her outrageously overgrown grape vines and bittersweat mangled & entangled along a stone wall with large overgrown oak trees along the same border sort of covering all the vines up etc. I'm using nothing more than a pair of hand hedge clippers & Prunning Shears & hand saw. i have no money to invest in heavy duty equiptment, so for 4 hours of cutting & 4 trips to the dump using the trunk of my car, then hardly even putting a dent in the job, I made $60.00, the next day again I didn't like the look she gave me, so I felt guilty and charged her $50.00 for 3 hrs. She want's me to try and see what i can do again this year for her...So what would you do, this whole job could take about 24-36 Hrs. with what I have to use for tools.?
A: Here is what I do....Estimate how many hours it's going to take to do the job. Multiply that by $35 per hour (I'm in Texas, and that's about the going rate for landscape jobs), and that will be your estimate. Good luck!
Q: Can I back out of a car loan?
After signing for a car loan on a new car, I realized the dealer had added $1,930.00 in fees to the loan balance. Needless to say, he did everything he could to distract me and cover up the fees while he hurried to get the paper signed. I called him 24 hours later and asked if we could just void out the loan and I would immediately pay the full amount in cash. He refused to void out the loan and said yes I could pay it off, but would still owe the fees. Doesn't one have a certain amount of time (such as 3 days) to rescind a contract? Also, could this be classified as a UNILATERAL MISTAKE" when one did not fully understand the terms of the contract? When I made the phone call to the dealer, I recorded the conversation and advised him I was doing so as proof that I made an attempt to rescind 24 hours later. The dealer is in Oak Lawn, Illinois.

Man Faces Charges For Driving Boy To Cop Station
(STNG) Worth police are expected to charge an Oak Lawn man with disorderly conduct for putting an 11-year-old boy in his car and driving him to the police station after he saw the child "dodging in and out of traffic."
The 19-year-old man was driving in the 6900 block of West 111th Street on Wednesday afternoon when he saw the boy and was concerned for his safety, Worth police Chief John Carpino said.
Carpino said the man made a U-turn across three lanes of traffic to reach the boy. The incident occurred about 4:45 p.m.
The man used his cell phone to call the boy's mother. He told her what had occurred and that he was taking her son to the police station two blocks away.
"The mom wasn't very happy," Carpino said. "And I can't say I blame her. I'd be pretty upset if a stranger put my kid in their car."
Carpino said the man "honestly thought he was helping the boy."
I don't think is fair that this guy be charged w/anything.
I it was my son I'd be grateful, he might of saved this kid from being ran over. This irresponsible parents need to be taught a lesson.
A: No but his conduct was not right either! In this day and age you can NOT put a child that is not yours into your vehicle without his parent's permission and drive away somewhere! That is kidnapping! The proper thing to have done would have been to have detained the child at the side of the road where he was stopped and called the police to come to him. What has gotten this fellow into trouble is the act of TAKING the child away from the spot where he was initially detained. Again the furthest that child should have been taken should have been the side of the road. Then he would not have this burden.

We just moved into the area and I'm not sure who to call about it, because the DMV isn't even in Oak Lawn, it's in Bridgeview.
A: If your residence is in Oak Lawn, go to the Village of Oak Lawn and purchase the Village of Oak Lawn vehicle sticker. You don't need to purchase the City of Chicago city sticker which is way too expensive anyway. However, you need to go to the state DMV, and the closest one to you is in Bridgeview, to transfer your car's license plates to Illinois plates if you are going to reside in Illinois on a permanent basis. I believe this needs to be done within a period of months. Check with the local DMV.
