Q: University of Illinois at Champaign vehicle parking????
I am looking for a good value for parking my car down there, any spots left?
A: Rent parking from people in apartments or private businesses. Churches are also a great place to rent parking from since they need the funding, are very close to campus, and don't usually need their spots except during worship times.
Q: I have to have a bedroom set moved from a friend's house to my house. I have no car. What's the best way?
This is in the small town of Champaign in central Illinois. I want as little to do with the move as possible. Would moving companies move a bedroom set across town? It's just a mattress, boxspring bedframe, dresser, mirror, and nightstand. How much would it cost? Any recommendations on movers? I'm new to this.
A: arrg ... go to menards and rent a truck for90 min for 20 dollars or go to uhall and rent a van --- that should be about 20-30 -- do NOT use a movers unless you have lots of stuff or lots and lots of stairs..... best way - rent a truck - get some friends together and offer pizza and beer AFTER the move!!!
Q: What do you think of this case (Champaign, Illinois Sept 06)?
Alocal resturant owner and his wife were pulled over by the police after failing to signal after making a right turn from their prestigious neighborhood. The officer had another officer trainee w/ him so so he called for back up. While waiting on back up the couple in the car figidit and made suspisious moves so the car was searched when the other experienced officer arrived b/c of the couples behavior. Police found a crack pipe on the wife and crack cocaine in a carmex tube on the husband, they also had their children 4 small children in the car. The courts threw out this evidence b/c it was supposedly an illegal search and seizure. This local company ownes well to do family resturants in my area and have reportedly been w/o their liquior licensence for failure to pay. The town is in and uproar because the poor get prison terms, and the rich get off. Also, how many if us have been the victim of bad police work , buit get convicted anyway! Does this case make you say, hmmmmmmmmm?
A: hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......
Q: How much would it cost to live (per year) in the following cities?
That is live as a single student--perhaps without a car--the barest of livings.
Austin, TX
Newark, NJ
St. Louis, MO
Ithaca, NY
State College, PA
Ann Arbor, MI
Baltimore, MD
Baton Rouge, LA
Miami, FL
Syracuse, NY
Champaign, IL
Providence, RI
And New York, NY
And any Metro area in Montana
A: I do not know the costs but Austin, Syracuse and Champaign, IL are good choices because the campuses have everything that you will need close by. You can use cost of living calculators to determine where it is cheaper to live.
Q: failure to yield to oncoming traffic in Champaign,IL?
I was turning right from a private drive into the main road...The sun was hitting my eyes and was almost blinding me. I did not yield to an oncoming police car going straight on the main road due to the sun. Is this worth contesting not guilty? The policewoman took my license as bond but said I could drive without it. If I plead not guilty can I get my license back before trial?
Thanks
Sh
A: Your defense is not considered valid, but I would not recommend what you do with your case.
You can drive with the complaint until you get your license back - but if you need the actual plastic before the court date, you can go to the court - 10 days after the issuance of the ticket - and post money in stead of the license for up to 10 days before the court date. But read the ticket and paperwork given to you by the officer- it should explain this.
Q: how easy is it to travel by car from chicago o'hare to champaign?
A: Its very, very easy. You get on to 294 south coming out of the airport. There are signs everywhere for it. You take that to 80 west for 3 miles. Then you get on 57 south for like 2 hours. There are U of I signs everywhere that will tell you exactly where to go. I live out of state and went to U of I so I had to this all the time.
Q: What are some jobs that support the baller lifestyle?
You know what I'm talkin about. Nice suits, fancy cars, expensive champaign, luxury hotels, and beautiful women. That's the kind of job I want. So what should I do for a living?
A: Unless you have some sort of special talent (i.e. singer, rapper, basketball, baseball, or football player, etc.) then there's not much else you could do.
Q: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign - public transportation?
Hello,
What is the city of Champaign, Illinois like? Living conditions - is it a big city or more suburban? I have heard you can get around Chicago without a car, but what about this city? I've never been to chicago so I wouldn't know about either.
A: You don't need a car in C/U. Green Street has just about everything and there is public transportation to the mall.
Q: Physics: How to find a distance which two cars pass each other?!?!?!?
Anna is driving from Champaign to Indianapolis on I-74. She passes the Prospect Ave. exit at noon and maintains a constant speed of 74 mph for the entire trip. Chuck is driving in the opposite direction. He passes the Brownsburg, IN exit at 12:30pm and maintains a constant speed of 60 mph all the way to Champaign. Assume that the Brownsburg and Prospect exits are 106 miles apart, and that the road is straight.
How far from the Prospect Ave. exit do Anna and Chuck pass each other?
A: ........................................................................ < chuck (60 mph)
Anna (74 mph) >
1PA exit ..................... 106 miles ................................. Bb exit
............ < ...... x >>>>|| cross
let cross take place at (x miles) from PA exit after (t hours) from Anna's start
Anna covers (x) distance with (74 mph) in (t) hours
x = 74 *t --------------- (1)
Chuck covered (106 - x) with (60 mph) in (t - 0.5) hours because he started (half hour late)
106 - x = 60 *(t - 0.5) --------------- (2)
put (t) from (1) into (2)
106 - x = 60 *[(x/74) - 0.5]
multiply throughout by (74)
106*74 - 74 x = 60 x - 60*37
7844 - 74 x = 60 x - 2220
134 x = 10064
x = 75.10 miles crossover took place from PA exit
Q: Rental cars under the age of 21?
My friend is age 20 and is coming to visit me but is in need of renting a car. I'm located in Champaign, IL. Anybody offer any help or know of which companies rent cars to people under 21?
A: It is difficult to rent a car if you're under 25. However, some rental agencies will allow one to rent a car if you're under 25, providing that you pay an additional daily surcharge. For most agencies/states, the minimum age is 21, while a few may go as low as 18. If you can rent through an employer/group plan, you may also be able to rent. If you are on official military orders, you can probably rent if over 18, but if you're just on leisure travel/leave the usual rules typically apply.
http://www.bnm.com/uage.htm a good site to help you find such agencies and compare the surcharge rates in major cities, as is http://www.autorentalguide.com/car-rentals-under-25.shtml

Q: Where can I find resources to help me as a single parent in Champaign, Illinos?
Where can I find a place or people who are willing to help me provide a better life for myself and children in my local area. I am working FT, attending college, with three kids. I really am in need of helping like figures, or any organization who is willing to help me get ahead and be self supporting of my family. My main issues are childcare that is safe, reliable, and affordable while I attend class, and work. I am finding that many mean based programs don't help b/c the more I make the less help you recieve, I don't have the time to wait on hand outs b/c I work, or many of the programs are swamped (headstart)ex :public aid, WIC,. Since I have some college education and a nursing assistant certificate and above average wage I do not qualify for for educational assistance from many gov agencies, and I own a car so that consider assests. I am at my wits end for finding help for someone on the way to trying to make a better life.
A: There are different grants from the state and/or government that you would qualify for. I would look up information on it or goto your local library and check information about it.
Q: Would you recommend that I rent a car on my trip to Champaign?
I am staying at the Hawthorne suite and fear that there will not be any cabs to get me to local resturants, etc.
A: Don't waste your money renting a car - there are tons of restaurants close to your hotel and if you need to get a taxi to take you somewhere it will still be way cheaper than a car rental.
Also like the poster before me - the city has a great bus service that is cheap and very clean.
