Q: Greyline Tours in Denver.... worth it?
http://www.grayline.com/Grayline/destinations/us/denver.go I'll be in Denver from Wednesday until Saturday (short trip). I've lived in Florida my whole life, so my wife and I are looking to see some of the spectacular sites in the Denver area. I'm not usually the type to go on a tour, but I figure one of the 9-10 hour tours might be a good way to cram in a bunch of stuff. The Greyline Tours I've been interested in are as such: DENVER MOUNTAIN PARKS - Red Rocks Park - Bear Creek Canyon - Buffalo Bill Cody Gravesite and Museum - Lookout Mountain Duration: 4 hours $40.00 WHISTLES, BELLS AND MOUNTAIN PEAKS - Travel up Mount Evans - Lunch at Echo Lake Lodge - Ride on Georgetown Loop Railroad Duration: 9 hours $95.00 I have no idea what any of these places are.. but they sound cool! lol. I am renting a car while I'm there, so theoretically I could drive myself to some of these places. However, I wouldnt have a tour guide providing historical information. Any insight on this? Thanks!

A: I think the Whistles, Bells and Mountain Peaks one sounds fantastic. I went to Grayline's webpage and checked out all Denver tour offerings. If you are looking to see mostly the sights in the mountains I would suggest maybe the Rocky Mountain National Park tour. However I think the railraod ride part of the Whistles tour would be awesome. Another railroad I've heard has amazing views is the Royal Gorge.

Q: When are people going to stop throwing out bottles filled with water and other liquids?
I have seen people take half full bottles of pop and twist on the cap and dump them in the trash .That got me thinking. The water cannot escape to evaporate.Thats where all the water is going and there are probly lakes worth of water in our landfills from people doing this.Ive seen it at the car wash too.If its in the bottle it cant go back to nature and its ruining the ecosystem. We need to teach people not to do this. Its plain carelessness on their part. Thankyou all for reading. All trash is not crushed heck in the south more people probly use illegal or else private dumpsites than what use actual dumpsites.I know some so called trash companies down here simply take it all and dump it in their own field. They arent anything more then people with trucks who happen to own a big dumpsite.I dont think there much trash crushing happening there yet.

A: It makes me angry too. Thanks for bringing this issue forward.

Q: Can someone proofread my scholarship essay?
Why do you want to be the first person in your family to attend college? The need for money to pay the bills, college, books, food, and medicine is one major barrier. My mother is ill with diabetes and psoriasis. Every day she comes home exhausted and lives day by day. No retirement or savings because all that is left in her pay check goes for food, bills, and medicine. I pray for her daily because I can feel her struggle. Raising three children on your own is a difficult task especially when you are a teenager and barely graduated with a GED. My mother has made bad decisions in her life but she considers her children to be a blessing. She is my role model and a strong independent woman who has taught me so much. She has taught me carpentry from drilling a nail into the wall to putting up sheetrock to make a wall. She has directed me on how to change oil and tires on the car so I would never have to pay and waste money for someone to do the labor. She has learned from experience and I am glad that I have learned so many things from her because I am a strong independent woman because of her. I am dedicated to getting a successful job so that I wouldn’t have to be in the position she is in. I want to wake up and be happy with my job. I want a job that provides economic stability. I love my mother for making me who I am today so supporting and caring for her are my primary objectives. Being the first person to attend and graduate from college would be a tremendous achievement for both my family and I. Even as a child, I have always felt the need to help others whether it’s holding the door open for someone or volunteering in a nursing home and hospital. For that reason, I donate numerous hours of my time helping the elderly and volunteering at the hospital. I have completed over 148 community service hours, many of which have not be recorded. I also stay after class and help my teachers file their course work. I enjoy assisting those in need. Helping others gives me a sense of accomplishment and makes me feel good about myself. Furthermore, I am a proud supporter of the World Wildlife Fund. I believe it is necessary to contribute to the preservation of the wildlife population. We must conserve and protect wildlife from extinction so that our children and grandchildren would be able to see and experience the benefits of life and its surrounding features. I have a passion for animals as you can see. I believe everyone should help try to sustain life and give back to the community. Currently attending Palm Beach Community College in Lake Worth, I remain with a steady 3.68 GPA. I am proud of myself but I strive to do better. I study consistently when I have the time. In addition, I recently got accepted to Honors College with a teacher’s recommendation. My major is in Biology and I plan to transfer to the University of Florida. Veterinary College in the University of Florida is very competitive so achieving A’s in my academics are essential but discovering a way to pay for college is an even greater challenge. Receiving this scholarship will relieve financial strain on me and my mother.Veterinary medicine is my goal and my dream. I believe I have the ability to make that dream happen because I have a drive.

A: 1) because all that is left in her pay check (change to: because all of her pay check) 2) I am dedicated to getting a successful job so that I wouldn’t have to be in the position she is in (change to: so that I will never be in the position she is) 3) strong independent woman (add comma between strong and independent) 4) also maybe use the word career rather than the word job..sounds more long term and like more of a commitment. 5) Being the first person to attend and graduate from college (take out the word from...should just read...attend and graduate college) 6) many of which have not be recorded( change the word be to been) 7) so that our children and grandchildren would be able to see and experience (remove the word that and change would to will...so our children and grandchildren will be able to see and experience...) 8) I have a passion for animals as you can see(add a comma between animals, as) 9) I remain with a steady 3.68 GPA. (change to: I consistently have held a 3.68 GPA) 10) I study consistently when I have the time (change to: I spend any free time studying) 11) I recently got accepted to Honors College with a teacher's recommendation (change to: I was recently accepted to Honors College per a teacher's recommendation...)

Q: Has violence against Americans increased because of the immigration issues?
Lawmakers are weighing in and calling for Newsom's resignation as well as pundits, media and opinion editorials declaring that they believe that Newsom as well as other officials should be held legally responsible for being complicit in the death of the Bologna father and sons.http://wwwwakeupamericans-spree.blogspot.com/2008/07/san-francisco-sanctuary-city-shielded.htmlNews that SHOULD be presented by all the major, TV and radio networks, the BEATING DEATH OF A TWO-YEAR OLD GIRL BY HER OWN GRANDFATHER, is given in only 116 words on the website of a local, TV station in Oklahoma City. Now whyyyy would midstream media “journalists” like Nancy Grace, Wolf Blitzer and Katie Couric not pick up this story? That’s right, you guessed it, it’s an ILLEGAL ALIEN who murdered the little girl. And telling the truth about illegal aliens to the American people is bad for Big Business and Democrats. And besides, it’s “racist” to speak honestly about “undocumented immigrants”. The killer, ILLEGAL ALIEN from Guatemala, Herman Marzelo Vail Bailon, is a 32-year old GRANDFATHER, who just couldn’t keep his hands off the little girl. Police detained the ILLEGAL ALIEN SCUMBAG for questioning on Saturday after they were called to an Oklahoma City motel room where employees had been asked to help a choking toddler. But police say the presence of blood in the room indicated there was something more sinister happening. Police arrested the ALIEN PUKE on a child abuse complaint. Doctors then noticed bruising on Liliana’s body and further examination revealed the girl’s skull had been fractured and that she had suffered other injuries. AMERICA, DON’T EXPECT TO EVER HEAR ABOUT THIS AGAIN. In Michigan, ILLEGAL ALIEN, Rodrigo Delacruz-Encarnacion, killed 52-year old, William O’Brien, when the unlicensed, illegal alien with fake ID turned into the path of O’Brien, causing O’Brien’s Harley-Davidson, motorcycle to smash into the invader’s van. The illegal alien then tried to escape, forcing witnesses to detain the killer until police arrived. The denverpost says, “Driver identified in I-70 crash”, when what they SHOULD be saying is. “DRUNK ILLEGAL ALIEN KILLS HER OWN FRIEND”. A man was pronounced dead Friday night after being ejected from a sport utility vehicle carrying eight people involved in an alcohol-related crash off of Interstate 70 in Eagle County, according to the Colorado State Patrol. Jose De Jesus Trinidad-Esparza, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene. It is unknown where Trinidad-Esparza resides, the patrol reported. The driver has been identified as Lenora Hernandez, 20, of Avon, Colo. Illegal immigrant charged in fatal motorcycle crash in Holland blog.mlive.com HOLLAND (Michigan)– An illegal immigrant who allegedly caused a fatal crash by turning in front of a motorcyclist was charged Thursday with trying to leave the scene of the deadly collision. Rodrigo Delacruz-Encarnacion, 25, is jailed on a $100,000 bond following his arraignment in Holland District Court on the felony, which is punishable by up to 15 years in prison. Police say Delacruz-Encarnacion is responsible for killing William O’Brien, 52, of Holland in an 8 p.m. Wednesday crash. O’Brien was driving his 1996 Harley-Davidson south on Butternut Drive when the suspect’s minivan turned into the path of his motorcycle. O’Brien could not avoid the crash, and struck the passenger side of the van. He died at the scene. His family declined to comment on the accident. Ottawa County sheriff’s Lt. Steve Kempker said witnesses had to detain Delacruz-Encarnacion at the scene of the crash until police arrived. He was arrested and taken to the Ottawa County Jail. The suspect has been in the country illegally since the spring and has been working odd jobs and living in migrant camps, police said. He allegedly had fraudulent identification when he was arrested. Authorities believe Delacruz-Encarnacion is a risk for fleeing the area since he has no ties to Holland. The vehicle, which had been pulled over for unsafe lane use, stopped and then sped away as the officer approached the vehicle, stopping in a dirt pullout, according to the DPS. The driver, also an illegal immigrant, tried to run, then the officer tried to restrain him, at which time the officer was attacked by a passenger who attempted to choke him. Just the other day, Tony Bologna and his two sons were shot to death after their car came close to another car driven by illegal alien felon Edwin Ramos. Ramos, 21, an illegal alien from El Salvador, simply pulled out his gun and killed these men in cold blood. Just last March, San Francisco police arrested Ramos on a gun charge and already had two other felony convictions before that. However, due to San Francisco’s “sanctuary city” policy, the city officials did not alert Homeland Security about Ramos. According to San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, “We are standing up to say to all of our residents, we don’t care what your status is in terms of legal certification.” Since the shooting, Newsom has rescinded part of the sanctuary policy, but it is far too late for the Bologna family. How many times does this have to happen to American families? How many people have to suffer for the Federal government to step in and secure our borders? Deptford woman killed, illegal driver held on DWI, death by auto charges by South Jersey News Online Friday July 25, 2008, 11:11 AM FRANKLIN TWP. -- A 51-year-old Deptford Township woman died Thursday from injuries she received when her car was hit by an illegal immigrant who was driving drunk and with no license, police said. The crash occurred at about 5:35 p.m. Mijail L. Hernandes, 24, of Lake Worth, Fla., was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Suburban west on Route 40 and allegedly failed to stop at a red lght, police said. The Suburban hit a 2008 Hyundai Tucson driven by Yvonne M. Pennewell, which was traveling south on Main Road, Route 555, said police. The Hyundai was forced off the Hyundai. Pennewell and her passenger, Crystal D. Ashmore, 25, of Vineland, had to be freed from the car by rescue crews. Both women were airlifted to Cooper Medical Center in Camden. Pennewell died at Cooper. Milan Azar, Lopez-Navor’s lawyer, said the case still haunts him. “In all my years as a lawyer, very few cases really stick with me but this one does. It was very sad.” Kevin Aucoin, chief legal counsel for DCYF, acknowledged that it is an emotionally wrenching case. “It certainly is a tragic case. “But this is a case where DCYF’s paramount concern had to do with the safety of the children, Alexis and Victoria,” said Aucoin. An illegal immigrant charged with killing two people in a South Richmond car crash now faces a $2.3 million wrongful-death suit filed by the family of one of the victims. The administrators of the estate of Kathryn L. Jones, who was fatally injured in the May 24 wreck, also has named as a defendant the construction company for which Carmen Alejandro Garcia-Hernandez was employed. Garcia-Hernandez was driving a pickup truck registered to R.J. Biringer Construction Co. Inc., whose owner, Ronald J. Biringer, is under federal indictment for transporting illegal immigrants. Richmond police allege that Garcia-Hernandez was driving the truck when it ran off Snead Road and hit a parked car that spun around and fatally injured two people standing next to it, Jones, 44, and Joseph Owens, 40, of Alberta in Brunswick County. Jones, a native of South Hill and the mother of two children, lived in the neighborhood were the crash occurred and was attending a house-warming party when she was struck, said Charles H. Cuthbert Jr., her attorney. She had been employed several years as a security guard for Wackenhut Corp., he said. After the crash, police said Garcia-Hernandez, 28, tried to flee the scene on foot, but witnesses detained him until officers arrived. He was indicted June 9 on two counts of aggravated involuntary manslaughter, driving while intoxicated and felony hit-and-run driving. According to the lawsuit, Garcia-Hernandez had a blood-alcohol level of 0.15, nearly twice the legal limit of 0.08. His employer, Ronald Biringer, was indicted March 19 by a federal grand jury in Richmond on a single count of transporting illegal immigrants to Fort Lee. One of the men, Benito Rayo Zavala of 3262 Hwy. 111/903, Albertson, is facing a long list of felony charges at the county level, while federal charges are pending against Ernesto Rayo Morales of 126 L.G. Westbrook Lane, Albertson. The men’s ages have not been confirmed by local authorities. Morales is an illegal immigrant and Zavala is also believed to be in the country illegally, Duplin County Sheriff Blake Wallace said in a recent press conference. The sheriff noted that both arrests were made as a result of probes by the multi-agency Duplin County Drug Enforcement Task Force, which executed search warrants at separate homes in the Albertson area earlier this month. Zavala was arrested on July 7 in the more recent case, when an investigation into the possible manufacturing and selling of methamphetamine culminated in a search of Zavala’s home. http://www.clintonnc.com/articles/2008/07/26/news/doc488a9ad2823d0605274558.txt

A: Wow that was long. Yes i believe it has. And it is really disgusting how the media covers up for illegal criminals. Like I said it needs to hit one of them personally before their a$$es are going to wake up and report this bullshit so all Americans know what is really going on in our country.

Q: HERE IS SOMETHING VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE READ?
love telling new but here something i don't want to post it is concerning mostly at my school in Michigan any here i wan you to know mostly since halloween is coming Danger in disguise: candy-flavor drugs Strawberry meth hasn't hit locally in a big way, but police are on lookout What if someone had the brilliant notion to make "the world's most dangerous drug" sweet tasting by adding candy flavors and making it look like Pop Rocks? Well, someone did and it might be catching on. As a father of a fifth grader, I was naturally concerned when I heard about the newest form of methamphetamine, known as "candy-meth." An e-mail has been circulating on the Web, alleging that candy-flavored meth is being passed out to kids at elementary schools. To verify evidence to support the claims in the e-mail go to Snopes.com . (see link http://www.snopes.com/horrors/drugs/candymeth.asp), Candy meth is a potential threat to anyone tricked into thinking that it’s not harmful. Parents need to be informed on what kind of drugs are out there. Furthermore, parents need to talk to their children about the present dangers of drugs. Here are the basic facts that exist regarding candy-flavored meth: - candy meth is most commonly flavored with strawberry and is known on the street as "Strawberry Quick." - other flavors may include chocolate, peanut butter, cola, cherry, grape, and orange - tell your children to never accept candy from strangers, or even friends if received from someone else -meth is especially dangerous for kids, with symptoms of anxiety, paranoia, and increased heart rate I am sure we can expect it in the future as trends tend to move through the larger cities," said Deputy Chief Julian Bernal, head of Dallas' narcotics division. The Drug Enforcement Administration's Dallas office has not encountered the drug, but local agents are on the lookout, said spokeswoman Terri K. Wyatt. "These are evil drug dealers who are marketing to kids," Special Agent Wyatt said. Local bust At 2 a.m. Tuesday, a Lake Worth officer spotted a man sleeping inside a Pontiac Firebird parked at a Sonic restaurant on State Highway 199. When police searched Ronnie N. Smith's car, they found more than 400 grams of strawberry meth in two large plastic bags, in addition to various prescription drugs, several stolen credit cards and driver's licenses and about $1,800 in cash. The pink crystals in the large bags tested positive for meth, said Lake Worth police Capt. Dave Tatsak. While officers weren't inclined to give the stuff a taste test – doing so would be illegal – it "definitely smelled like strawberry," he said. Mr. Smith, 45, of Jacksboro, was arrested on drug possession charges and was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. He requested an attorney and refused to talk to investigators, leaving them with no idea where he got the Strawberry Quick or what his intentions with it were. On April 11, a Fort Worth police officer found the drug during a traffic stop. About 5 p.m., the officer pulled over a Ford Explorer on a traffic violation in the 2300 block of Ridgmar Plaza and found a 20-year-old man in possession of some prescription Tylenol for which he had no prescription. On the way to jail, the officer saw that the man was squirming, and once at the jail, the officer looked under the back seat and found a cigarette wrapper. It contained about a gram of "pink-colored, crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamines," also known as Strawberry Quick, the officer wrote in the report. "Depending on what the manufacturers use to cut the meth down, it can have various coloration, including pink," said Lt. Dean Sullivan, a Fort Worth police spokesman. "But our officers watch the TV news, too, so the catch phrase 'Strawberry Quick' did appear in at least one report." He said he knew of no other accounts of the drug in Fort Worth. About a dozen other local police agencies contacted said they had not come across the drug. Growing concern Concern over strawberry meth spiked nationally in February, when the Nevada Department of Public Safety's special investigations unit issued a police bulletin alerting law enforcement colleagues that the Carson City Sheriff's Department had seized some of the substance in late January. The bulletin noted that the drug first turned up in Sacramento, Calif., where dealers were cooking meth with strawberry-flavored drink mix to cut down on the drug's bitter taste when snorted. "If meth is cut with something after it is cooked, it loses its potency," said Special Agent Wyatt in Dallas. "With this, it's cooked into it. It's not diluted. It retains its potency." Arkansas police also have reported finding strawberry meth, and the DEA in Washington, D.C., reports that a similar pinkish-red crystalline drug has turned up in Washington state, Idaho, New Mexico, Missouri and Minnesota. Two weeks ago, the rise in reports prompted Se

Q: Anything worth seeing right now?
My boyfriend and I are going to the movies tonight and I was just wondering if anything good was out. Our movie theatre is not very big, so our options are: The Break Up Click The Lake House Scary Movie 4 Superman Returns Garfield Nacho Libre X-Men III Cars Tokyo Drift Over the Hedge Which one would be the best to see in your opinion?

A: The break up is really bad don't even bother seeing it... the ending is lame. Scary movie 4 is really stupid but can be funny at times. x men 3 is really good but you need to have seen 1 and 2 for it to make any sense at all. Click is funny... and Nacho libre is stupid.

Q: snow tires and lightweight cars?
I have a 98 honda civic with all season tires and live in Oswego,NY where there is a ton of lake effect. I've mentioned wanting to get snow tires to 2 people who used to work with mechanics and they told me not to waste my money. Apparently snow tires do not make much of a difference on lightweight cars like mine. I tend to have a lot more wheel spin starting from a stop than other cars (when the roads have a bit of snow buildup) and have to go 10 miles under when most people speed like its nothing. Of course almost everyone has an SUV here. Its an automatic which I've been told is worse in snow than a standard as well. So my question is- has anyone heard about that or had any experiences? I really don't want to get snow tires if it won't make enough difference to make it worth it.

A: Winter tires are not like All-Season tires and have special rubber compounds designed to improve traction, handling and braking in all cold weather conditions, not just ice and snow. Winter Tires are designed to deliver safety and control in snow, ice, and cold weather conditions. Many people think that all-season tires can deliver this same performance, but this is not true. The superior traction that winter tires deliver, as much as 25 to 50 percent increase over all-season tires, can very well be the margin you need to stop in time or to turn and avoid trouble. The Rubber Manufacturers Association has gone so far as to set a new standard for winter traction.

Q: MY SEATTLE TRIP: Please help organize my itinerary?
Hello, Thanks for reading and responding. I've been planning a trip to Seattle, but I need help organizing it. My interests are outdoor activities & sights----including hiking, biking, and kayaking; seeing cool neighborhoods; hanging out at coffee houses/bookstores/jazz clubs. So here's a list of activities and sights I am interested in so far for my nine day stay in Seattle (Sept. 2 - 11). I'm trying to organize all these activities and sights into a feasible itinerary, one in which I economize my time and energy. Please, while I understand that much of how it could be organized depends on many factors, such as my preferences, I could use your guidance! By the way, I will have a car. And on a couple of these days, I'll be hiking with a friend, a long-term resident of Seattle. I would appreciate your suggestions as to how I might make the most of my time and do as many of these as possible. How might you organize the following? Here's my very rough itinerary so far, all of which can be altered, including the particular day I do certain activities: Starting Sunday, Sept. 2; final day, Mon., Sept. 10: Day 1, Sun, Sept. 2: Bumbershoot Festival (I arrive from Korea on this day, early morning----not sure if I'll be too tired to get out. I hope not!) Day 2, Mon., Sept. 3: Bumbershoot Festival (?) I'm not sure if I'm going to do two days of this festival. Maybe just one. Are two days worth it or is one day enough? Day 3 & 4, Tues., Sept. 4 & Wed, Sept 5: I'd like to get an overview of the city by renting a bike and doing the Burke-Gilman Trail. If it helps me get around better than a car, I'd consider renting a bike for two days. While I want to see as much as possible, I'd like to stop and do things along the way. I realize that I can't do all of these in one day. But here are sctivities/sights I'd like to do, at some point, whether on this day of biking or on some other day: Neighborhoods: I like cool neighborhoods with interesting architecture and/or quaint stores/coffee shops * Fremont * University District * Capitol Hill * Queen Ann * Ballard Locks *West Seattle (? not sure---is it worth it?) * Green Lake (? not sure---is it worth it?) *Pike's Place Market (I know, not a neighborhood, but a place I could bike to on one of these days?) CITY PARKS: There seem to be so many good ones----for amazing views & beauty----that I'm confused. Which are really worth going to? It seems that most people agree on: Kerry Park (at night?), Olympic Sculpture Park, Volunteer, and Golden Gardens. Do you agree? I'm not sure about Carkeek or Gas Works though. Are these "duplicates experiences" of other parks? GARDENS/NATURE CENTERS: I don't need to see ALL gardens/nature centers of Seattle, just the most significant/beautiful. If they all are worth it, however, then let me know. Which ones? It seems: * Washington Park Arboretum * Kubota Garden * Woodland Park Rose Garden (? "duplicate"?) * Univ. of Washington Botanical Gardens (? again, "duplicate" of others?) Day 5, Thursday, Sept. 6: I must take do some shopping for an upcoming backpacking trip. Any suggestions for a good outdoors/backpacking store? Day 6, Friday, Sept. 7: Kayaking-----on Lake Union? Lake Washington? Also, on this day, the Bainbridge ferry to Bremerton----unless this is a day unto itself. Day 7, Saturday, Sept. 8: hiking----Mt. St. Helen's Day 8, Sunday, Sept. 9: hiking----Mt. Rainier (or some place my friend knows) Day 9, Monday, Sept. 10: A museum (any "musts-sees"?) Relax at some coffee shops? Definitely see a Mariners game that night. As you can see, I want to stay ACTIVE, but don't get me wrong: I want to have some down time along the way, such as enjoying a meal, hanging out at some cool cafes, coffee houses, and jazz club, not to mention parks. "Must-visit" Coffee Houses that are COMFORTABLE and w/ATMOSPHERE: * It seems people are saying: Uptown Espresso, Vivace, Coffee Messiah. Agree? "Must-visit" restaurants, especially seafood: * Only got one so far: Ray's "Must-visit" jazz clubs, especially for "After-hours lounge jazz": * depends on schedule, I know, but people are talking about The Triple Door. Notice I'm leaving out many tourist attractions, like the Space Needle and the zoo. These don't seem to be important compared to my priorities. Am I wrong? Have I missed anything? Thanks so much for any information and/or suggestions which might help me better define my itinerary. Cheers

A: Skip the 2nd day of Bumbershoot, unless there's some band you absolutely want to see. It's do-able in one day. The Burke-Gilman trail is pretty but won't give you an "overview of the city". It's really more rural. If you want to rent a bike for a day you can get one at Play It Again Sports on Stewart St. downtown. Green Lake is fun to ride around but, you know, it's really just a big lake. Nothing too exciting there. Fremont is a very cool neighborhood and you could check out stores / coffee houses / restaurants there. Don't miss the Fremont Troll under the Aurora Ave bridge. Nothing special about the University District, unless you are interested in checking out the campus. I would skip that. Ditto for Queen Anne. The Ballard Locks are neat and you could do that on the same day you see Fremont. It's fun to watch the locks in action. Check out the salmon ladder too, although there may not be many fish in it this time of year. The locks have a beautiful park that would be nice for a picnic. If you like the beach head to Alki Beach in West Seattle, otherwise I'd skip West Seattle. Ditto for Golden Gardens (although it's very close to the locks, so you could go there afterwards if you want to). You absolutely must see Pike Place Market. You could spend a whole day there. I would do that and the Seattle Art Museum on the same day, then have dinner at Wild Ginger. Best restaurant in town. You could also add Olympic Sculpture Garden on the same day. I think the WA Park Arboretum and Univ of WA Botanical Garden are the same thing. Beautiful place...I got married there! It's pretty big and you probably want to save 1/2 day for that. Great place for bike-riding. Kubota Gardens are incredible. I take all my out-of-town guests there. The Triple Door is great; also check out Jazz Alley if they have any live shows while you're here. Skip the zoo. A zoo is a zoo is a zoo. I agree with the previous poster that said REI is the place to get your backpacking gear. It's on the corner of Eastlake and Stewart, just a couple of blocks from the place where I said to rent a bike. As far as the coffee houses, I'd go to Uptown Espresso on Westlake. Or really, any place downtown. I know it's the biggest chain in the universe but I really do like Starbucks. They're consistent, friendly, and you don't have to walk more than 2 feet in this town to find one. :-) Don't go to Vivace...they're total snobs and unless you like a bad attitude with your coffee, I'd never set foot in that place. So, blah, blah, blah, here's what I would do if I were you: Day 1: Bumbershoot Day 2: Fremont, Ballard Locks, maybe Golden Gardens beach. Day 3: Olympic Sculpture Garden, Pike Place Market (have lunch there too), Seattle Art Museum, dinner at Wild Ginger. Day 4: REI, then rent a bike and ride up to Capitol Hill and the arboretum. Dinner on Broadway in Capitol Hill (whatever restaurant strikes your fancy). I'd try to stay out of downtown Seattle on the bike. Day 5: Take the ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge then check out Fort Ward State Park. Neat place. Take a bike instead of driving and you'll save a bunch of money. Bainbride is very bike friendly. Day 6: Relax, see Pioneer Square, spend an afternoon in Elliot Bay Bookstore. Go see some jazz music that night. Day 7-8: Hiking w/ your friend. Day 9: Open for anything you want to do. Mariners game at night. Buy snacks outside the stadium and bring them in with you to save a bunch of money. Hope that helps! Have fun in our BEAUTIFUL city!!!

Q: Do I need a rental car for Seattle. We're touring downtown and the Wooden Boat Center on Lake Union?
Someone mentioned great shopping at University Village. Is this worth checking out and do we need a car?

A: No, you do not need to rent a car as long as you are staying / touring the downtown / nearby Seattle area. The bus are very good and are very cheap. You can stay as far out as the airport and still get to downtown quickly and often. You can also get to University Village via bus.... Seattle's a great town to visit. Make sure you take a boat trip across the sound.....also very cheap.

Q: How can i tell if my car is f*cked?
so. my peanut EX brother in law drove my car into the farking lake. i had lent it to my sis and yeah long story anyway, it didnt go all the way in, just up to the back seats.... apprently, i wasnt there. im in oz... its a 1983 suburu 4wd wagon.... i dont have the money to take it to a mechanic... but is there a basic check i can do to find out whether its worth salvaging? i cant just get rid of it and never know whether it was gunna work or not.... it was only in the lake for a half hour before it was towed out and then they left it for 2 days before i came across it... it doesnt start, doesnt even try to turn over... why would i get flagged? sorry if i swore but can u sense my frustration????

A: if the wiring in the car got wet then its totaled if these people don't think so there is a bunch of cars in new orleans cheap

Q: My house is worth 25 - $50K less than when I bought it and I need to sell it but can't pay commission, ideas?
We bought the home new last May but never moved in due to business problems. Its never been lived in and now we need to sell it due to dwindling income. I don't want to just walk away from it because it will ruin my credit. Payments are current. The location: Lake Elsinore, California - 2 Story 5-BR, 3-Bath, 3100 sq ft, 3-car garage on a cul-de-sac in a nice, new neighborhood. Due to drop in value we have no money to pay real estate commissions. So far I have been unsuccessful trying to lease/option, rent or sell it. House cost $500K - worth $450 - 475K. We put $50K down. I am willing to carry a $50K 2nd if I can sell it for $475K. That might help the buyer qualify for a fixed interest loan. Our fixed loan is not assumable. I can sell it myself. This home was not bought as an investment, but to live in, and is not a starter house. Any ideas on how I can sell my house without going into debt? The only idea I have involves using a Trust, but I still need a buyer for that method.

A: I would assume your mortgage is around $450 or so with the $50k down, so you do have some wiggle room is you can sell it at $475k. You can contact some local agents to see if they would be willing to do a variable rate commission. That basically states in the contract that they will take a reduced commission if they can sell it within x amount of days, usually 30 days. The problem arises of the cost you pay to a buying agent. Let the listing Realtor know the situation and that you have to keep the buying agents commission low, but enough to still show your property. I understand that you don't want to take a complete loss on it, but if you start getting into a situation were your mortgages payments are late, you will incur penalties and possibly foreclosure (usually around 90 days late on mortgage) if the situation continues to spiral downward. It is not worth ruining your credit to try and recoup your downpayment because it will cost you more in the long run!

Q: Help getting a family from al to fla ?
I'm trying to find the cheapest possible way to get my sister back to florida . They are in wetumpka and need to get to lake worth florida . My sister and her husband had a car it died they have 3 children they moved to Alabama on the promise of work and when they arrived there has been none. I'm a full time college student with a part time job I'm trying to aid them in getting back to Florida any ideas that would help please let me know thank you and god bless

A: I would check with local churches and charities they might be able to assist you. Also have your sister check with places in her town they might help her. Other than that they cheapest way is to have them go by bus. I hate taking the bus however desperate times call for taking measures we normally would not have taken I would check out the bus fair they do have some children’s pricing depending on how old the children are. http://www.greyhound.com/home/ You might also want to check out Amtrak sometimes you can get some pretty good deals and the train is much better than the bus. http://www.amtrak.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Amtrak/HomePage Hope this helps!

Q: How much is my fish worth?
My fish is a Zebra Cichlid (rainbow color) from Lake Victoria. It has very unusual natural markings. One side has the M logo just like the fast food giant. The other side has an 01. It should be called the race car fish. This is all natural hence my question.

A: Call McDonald's headquarters in Oak Brook, Illinois. They think McDonald's is #1 and might pay you something for it. I love my Lake Victorian Zebras though they're not worth much because they breed so easy. I give the offspring of my fish away to kids in the area for free to get them interested in the hobby though you could get a few dollars for this interesting fish. I would think $20 at the max unless McDonalds is interested. There are some McDonald's with fish tanks in them. Call around because they'll pay you some real money for the novelty.

Q: Places of interest between London and The Lake District, UK.?
I will be hiring a car in a few weeks to drive from London to The Lake District over two days. Never been to that side of England before. Does anybody know of any places of interest along the way that might be worth stopping to have a look at? Where will be the best place to stay for a night to do some sight seeing as well? Thanks Kawajaboy

A: the most direct route is M1, M6, M6 toll, and M6 again up to the Lake District ... I'd definitely recommend the M6 toll, it may be expensive at £4.50 (I think that's the cost) but it's sheer bliss to get off the race track for a bit which puts the half way point around the Welsh borders ... how about Chester or Ironbridge or the potteries or somewhere like that? or you could stay on the M1 past the M6 turn-off and go across the Low Peak through Matlock and Buxton with sightseeing at the Blue John Caves at Castleton ... or through the High Peak at Holmfirth, Last of the Summer Wine country
