Q: any one know a good car mechanic in fresno, ca?
I need to get a new head gasket for my Honda crv I live in Fresno and need a good mechanic.
A: You should check the AAA website in your area. Even if you're not a member, you can check for the Approved Auto Repair listings. The AAR shops are checked out throughly. Be aware, they are the best, not the cheapest.

Beware of scams when buying on craigslist -- unless the car is in your area where you can go see it and talk with the owner. Buying a used car long distance is always a risk.
Q: I'm traveling from Big D TX to Fresno CA by car. What are some sights along the way I shouldn't miss?
A: Jeff; It really depends on your age and interests, and how much time you have to spend in sightseeing along the way . If you are going from Dallas North up to Interstate 40 through Amarillo, (that's the old "Route 66" across America,) if you have never seen it, don't miss The Grand Canyon. It is a half-day extra to go over from Flagstaff, and back. Some foreign tourists come to America specially for a trip to this natural wonder. You could take an extra day and cut up to Las Vegas. (No further explanation necessary. But whether or not you like to gamble, or see the shows, don't miss the tourist center and guided tour of the Hoover Dam. ) If you are going the southern route, Interstate 20 to Interstate 10, there is plenty to see in Phoenix and Scottsdale.(now the 6th largest city in the US.) Both of these routes eventually converge and meet after you go through the Mojave desert.in Barstow, California, and you go up the valley to Fresno through Bakersfield. Good luck. Have a great trip. !
Q: Why are there no commecial airline flights between Sacramento and Fresno, California?
They are the two largest cities in the central valley, yet one has to fly to San Francisco and transer, taking longer than by car in some cases.
A: Because they are short haul trips. You can get to Fresno in not time from Sacramento. Fuel costs are very high just to go on a flight. Now if you really want to fly from SAC to FAT, I'd suggest you hire a private pilot, or helicopter.
Q: how long does it take to get to Fresno CA form Los Angeles in a car?
A: I live in Fresno and actually just went to LA on Saturday. It really depends on what section of LA you are going to, what time you're travelling to there, how fast you're going and how much traffic there is in general. I made it in about 3 hours and 25 minutes but I'm guessing it's probably between 3-4 hours on average. There wasn't as much traffic on the I-5 but if you plan to use other freeways, I'm guessing it's a few more minutes because they travel through the center of LA and there's lots of congestion.
Q: in fresno cali is it illegal to to tint front windows; even to the lightest tint?
i'm going to get my first car tinted and just wonder what should i, or shouldn't i do...
A: The tint laws in California are very restrictive with the front windows. You are allowed only a 70% VLT see http://www.tintlaws.com
Q: I got a speeding ticket in Fresno, California and live in the East Bay (200 miles away) what should I do?
So i got a ticket in Fresno going 85 in a 70mph zone, however was sandwiched between 2 other cars who I believe were going the same speed as me and therefore driving an accurate speed. Problem is they want me to appear in court near where I got the ticket which is about 200 miles away, I was wondering if their was anyway I could move it to a local courthouse or even if I should if I want to fight this case.
A: pay the ticket.
you won't get it moved to a different jurisdiction because it is inconvenient for you.
if convenience was a concern you should have obeyed the law.
it does not matter what speed others were doing you are the one who got the ticket. does California law state that if 2 others break the law then you also are expected to? if they had driven off the road would you have followed? if the law states that you don't have to obey speed laws if others don't then go to court and fight it.
