Q: can anyone recommend a realtor in bakersfield, ca to sell my house who isn't a greasy used car salesman?
Hi there. my wife and i would like to sell our home in the bakersfield area and was wondering if anyone would recommend a realtor? I would appreciate it no realtors would nominate themselves. There is a time for self praise however this is not it. thanks. I am looking for a realtor to sell my house. I am looking for individuals that had a positive experience selling their home in the bakersfield area that they would recommend.

A: I will not nominate my self. I promise... :) I will give you some pointers on how to select a Realtor. Please dont just take 1 off the street. Your home is one of the most expensive investment that you have and you don't want to just trust it to "some" Realtors. Interview at least 2 Realtors. Invite them to your home. Before the meeting please make sure that they are aware that you are looking forward for their presentation. Ask about the statistics on your area or subdivision. How many actives- these are going to be your competition. How many sold and how much was it sold for, for the past 90,60 and 30 days - these are hard numbers, meaning, these are how much a buyer is willing to pay for a comparable property in your area. How many pendings are there - these are for sale homes that are waiting to close, you will not be able to see the sold price yet, but will give you an idea of which active once are going..... Ask for the Realtor's, marketing plan. What marketing plan is he/she is going to do so that your home will be exposed to as much buyer as possible. Ask if he/she has a designation. Realtors have designations, the highest designation so far is the CRS - Certified Residential Specialist. CRS Realtors has gone through extensive training and they usually know the latest trend in the market, what's new and effective. Other designations are: Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI), Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR), your state might have their own designation. So yes, not all Realtors are the same. Go with the full service Realtors too. I did a lot of take over listings from Discount Realtors, just because when the listing agreement was signed, they stick their yard sign on your yard and you will never hear from them again. Make sure the Realtor that you hire understands that you needed a feedback from the prospective buyers. This is a good indication of what the buyers think about your home. On the presentation of your home, please de-personalize your home, take down all family and personal pictures and replace it with neutral frames. A good Realtor will also walk you through this. If you need more help on this area, please do not hesitate to contact me (rsvp@samgabilagon.com).... I am a Realtor in Austin Texas but I have a network of Realtors in your area and I can provide a name for you so you can start the interview process.... Good luck. I hope this helps!

I'm looking for anything, besides used car lots...either repo auctions, impounded cars, or someone just happens to own a truck in the immediate area looking to sell it.

Q: Does anyone know where I can rent a muscle car for prom, any place between Bakersfield and Los Angeles, CA?
I've looked for a place but still couldn't find anything. So if you can help me I will really be grateful for your help. We want something a little different for prom for my Senior year. Thank you!

A: If you are into Mustangs, Hertz is renting a high-end Mustang for about $150 per day. Not sure what edition it is, but it's higher than the GT. If you want something more exotic, it's going to cost a whole lot more.

Q: Need to drive LA to Bakersfield with a couple of kids in the car. Not great at mountain driving. Any ideas?

A: First of all, I wouldn't consider anything along that trip "mountain driving", which implies single-lane, curvy roads like Angeles Crest Highway. You'll be taking I-5 all the way through the Tehachapi Mountains, but it's no different than any other freeway except for a couple of steeper parts. No big deal. Since it's only a couple hours, here's a suggestion. Feed the kids dinner, put them in their pajamas, then start driving after dinner. It's only a couple hours to Bakersfield, and it's much easier when the kids sleep.

Q: Help finding information about the air quality in Bakersfield.?
I need to find out about the air quality in Bakersfield. Not about the pollen count which I have seen on weather.com but I need info about toxins such as pesticides and car exhaust fumes in the air. Do you know a website where I can find this information. I have searched to no avail because I don't know the proper terminology. Please help.

A: I work in Kern County and your best source is the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District. Try this link: http://www.valleyair.org/aqinfo/aqdataidx.htm Hope it helps!

Q: I am looking for a corporate sponsor for my girls softball team where can I find one?
BAKERSFIELD BABES 12 & UNDER 4001 Rio Del Norte Street, Bakersfield, Ca. 93308 Dear Prospective Sponsor, Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to read this letter. Our organization is called The Bakersfield Babes. We are a non-profit Fastpitch Softball organization located in Bakersfield, California. Our organization is a traveling club that consists of girls that are of the ages of 12 and younger who are committed to developing their softball skills while representing our community at different tournaments throughout the state of California, while promoting integrity, fair play, and competition. Our Coaches are dedicated in helping each and every player improve their skills for future play. As we travel to other communities within the state our expenses expand every year. To help offset these expenses, we have fundraisers such as car washes and candy sales. Often enough, the funds raised do not cover every expense such as, hotel rooms, snacks and meals for our players. That’s why we are asking for your help. We are asking you to let our team represent your company during our travels and tournaments. This representation can be with banners, logo’s, flyers, or even your product. Monetary donations are greatly appreciated and are also Tax Deductible. Once again, we thank you for your assistance and our team would be very appreciative if you decided to sponsor them. On behalf of all of our players I thank you. Sincerely, C. White Pitching Coach (661) 378-6223 (661) 391-9366  Please make checks payable to The Bakersfield Babes 12& under team TAX ID# 01-0615124

A: Try a local community bank, real estate office, auto dealership, factory, or other very visible community business. We did this for a charity event. The sponsor(s) will want to see their name plastered on everything.Ask if they have a banner or something that you can display during games.Do not display anything for free. Get a corporate logo on pdf file & make sure all newsletters, forms, correspondence, etc. you send has their logo on it. Good luck.Big box stores(Lowe's,Walmart, some grocery stores can often help out w/ small amounts, $100.00 or so, and will often donate gift cards. Have you thought about a raffle?

Q: IF you don't have your drivers license and you passed a red light, what will happen?
i live in bakersfield,ca and well my husband passed a red light but he doesnt have his drivers license and the car is under my brother-in-law. do we have to go to court or can we just pay it? yea it was those cameras and we already got the ticket.

A: 1. Did he get a ticket in the mail? 2. The ticket will go to your brother-in-laws address bc the car is registered to him. 3. You husband could get in trouble if he admits to being the driver, but they wont really know who was driving. They dont care as long as they get their money!

Q: What is at 5508 Young Ct., Bakersfield, Ca. 93311?
It looks like a correctional facility within city limits. Survelance cameras, a ton of unmarked cars, and a wall around the entire perrimiter.

A: Nothing, according to the U.S. Postal Service website. "We're sorry! We were unable to process your request. The address was not found." Which doesn't mean that there's not some sort of big, spooky compound there. It just doesn't receive mail at that address...and if you're any kind of conspiracy theorist, that could make the whole thing seem even more sinister.

Q: What's the fastest way to get to last vegas by car?
I live in Medford OR, that's the border of Oregon and California. I was thinking going all the way down to Bakersfield CA, and then to las Vegas but a friend told me that he heard that there was a faster way to get there does any one know?

A: I've made this trip a couple times before (although not from or to Medford, just through it). I find it's best to take I-5 down to Northern California (around Mt. Shasta). From there, you'll need to take a couple of smaller highways until you get to Reno, where you'll take I-95 all the way to Las Vegas. Either that, or you can take I-5 down to Sacramento, then take I-80 to Reno, then I-95 to Las Vegas. You should buy a map of the area (or at least Mapquest your drive) so that you don't get lost. It's a pretty easy drive though. I'm not exactly sure how long it takes to get from Medford to Las Vegas, but Reno to Las Vegas takes about 7 or 8 hours, depending on how often you stop, how fast you drive, where in Las Vegas you're going, etc. Keep in mind, there's not much fast food between Reno and Las Vegas, so you may want to stop in Reno to eat.

Q: What's the fastest way to get to las vegas by car?
I live in Medford OR, that's the border of Oregon and California. I was thinking going all the way down to Bakersfield CA, and then to las Vegas but a friend told me that he heard that there was a faster way to get there does any one know?

A: I would take Highway 5 south to Sacramento, then over to Reno and down to Vegas on the only main highway (whatever it's called). This is quite an interesting trip, as much of the time it's only through desert, but occasionally there will be a little town with one gas station, one old trailer and the inevitable casino. I appreciate strange little places like this, for a while, anyway. Highway 5 does go all the way to Bakersfield, where one can take 58 east and then 15 north to Vegas. This route goes through desert country as well, but I find the other route more interesting. I don't know which is faster or fewer miles. Mapquest can tell you. Drive safely, buckle up... it is enforced here!
